Taemin looked around making sure the guy wasn't calling on anyone else.
"Im so sorry im late.." he said running out of breath, looks like he had rushed up to the floor.
"Um.." 'Really tall guy?? He's not that short from me...maybe like 2 inches and a half probably'
"Please forgive me, im Hoon, the one in charge of you guys" he smiled at Taemin, he held out his hand for him to shake. Taemin shook his hand, a little hesitant but he did.
'I can bearly see this guy's face, his bangs and face mask cover up most of it'
Taemin thought
"Im not sure if you've been told already but you were brought here to be tested, it's nothing baaad though, we just wanna see how much we can learn from you guys, and we've gotten a lot of useful information! No harm done to anyone!"
"I've been kinda told that, so I'm not in full panic mode"
Hoon laughed slightly "Good! We're trying to make it livable here for you guys, however, we have you more quarantined, who knows if you could infect others, and we keep a good amount of fully human people in the other building"
"That sounds fair, I wouldn't want to spread it around"
"Mhm!! So if you don't mind, I'll have to interview you a bit"
"Sure, uhhh.."
"Let's go to your room for some privacy" Hoon began walking towards it, he knew which room it was since there was only one vacant room left before Taemin. As they got there Hoon closed the door and sat down on one of the couches, he had his pen and paper ready.
Taemin sat in front of him, on the edge of the bed since it was in front of him, he felt a little awkward at first.
"Alrighty~ first tell me all the basic stuff like your name and age"
Taemin nodded "My name is Taemin and I'm 23 years old"
"Taemin, okay" Hoon began writing down "And how long have you been like this for?"
"You mean the Zombie thing uhh...I'd say a few weeks...maybe 4?"
"Four??"
"Yeah- why, is it bad??"
"Not bad...just surprising"
"Really??"
"You've probably been already told but...yesterday we had someone go full-on zombie on us, there's been many people that have for the past month and they all only lasted 2 weeks, maybe there are some that last longer...hm..."
"Well damn, that's...so could I turn into one at any moment right now??"
"Im not sure, hopefully not, we'll have to wait and see"
"Wait and see? Is that really all I can do...?? You expect me to wait and die here??"
"Well...you've made it this far, I think you'll be able to manage a bit longer, we are trying to find a cure...I promise it's terrible seeing people suffer like this, people who have families, even kids...so please don't see this as we're only using you as some tool to leave to die, if we find a solution we could maybe even save the world"
"Yeah...I guess you're right, I'm sorry uh...hoon right?"
"Yeah.."
"Honestly, I don't have the best experience with...groups...whatever you wanna call them, I've seen all kinds of selfish and overpowered pricks out there, taking people's fear as an advantage to gain power over them... it's been like this since forever, even before the Apocolypse but... it's even worse now"
"That's fair, I've also seen groups like that, the leaders of those groups don't care about anyone else but themselves, but that's not how we work here, we're trying our best to re-build this city and make it into a better one, we want to protect others trying to survive this apocalypse, we save others, not sacrifice them for our benefit"
"Sacrifice..." Taemin paused 'he sounds like he means it, I guess not everyone is bad..im so glad there are people like this out here, in times like these, I want to help them..'
"I get it I'll try helping too"
Hoon smiled and nodded "Thank you" Even though his face was mostly covered up Taemin could tell he was smiling just from his eyes. Taemin couldn't help but smile back, it was the first time he had smiled in forever, now that he had some weight lifted off his shoulders he could be in peace more "No problem" he looked around a bit then Continued "Sooo...the others...are they like this too? Do you have a leader or something?"
"Yeah, we do, her name is Ko, she's pretty strict and can get heated easily buuuutt, but she's super sweet and nice on the inside! She's a very good leader she knows what It means to be one..unlike some.."
"Yeah? I believe that... everything here seems so organized"
"It is! I should show you around if I can one day"
"You would?"
"Mhm! I'd gladly give you a tour~"
Taemin nodded "I would love that then"
"Mhm! But anyways...onto the next questions!"
"Kay" Taemin said a little more motivated now. Hoon asked him some more questions, writing all the information down on his paper and when he finished he set it inside a folder he had not getting up from his seat "I'll get going now, I have a ton of work to do" he sighed "I was so busy yesterday getting materials I missed so many things inside the base"
"Good luck with your work"
"Thank youuu~ I'll see you tomorrow Tae!" He rushed out of the room. Taemin relaxed on his bed '...is it bad I wanna see his face so badly? I bet he has a pretty boy face, I can tell from his eyes alone' Taemin began wondering 'Surprisingly...I felt pretty comfortable as we talked, is it his voice? Or was it because he told me his reason for doing this...whatever it is, it made me feel safer being in here'
Taemin didn't learn about Hoon nor could he see what he looked like, but either way he managed to captivate Taemin somehow.
Taemin for the rest of the day just walked around the floors, he was told by Hoon that he was allowed to go into the floor below the one he was on since there was another group of Half human zombies there, and soon they were about to open up the next one since they kept finding more and more of his kind and quickly the rooms were being filled, good thing the hospital was a huge one and had many floors available to expand.
