Taemin waited till tomorrow, but even then Hoon still hadn't shown up the whole day. Someone else was checking up on everyone on that floor, someone other than Hoon, it seemed to be someone else who was working alongside Hoon, Taemin decided to wait the next day, but then again, Hoon still hadn't shown up, by this point, Taemin was getting worried and decided to ask the person in charge of the floor instead of waiting for Hoon to come out.
"Okay, time for your daily check-up Tae," the lady said as she was sitting down on the couch with a pen and paper ready.
"Alright"
"Have you been feeling anything odd lately?"
"No"
"Any physical changes? Like maybe your skin, or maybe even sight, stuff like that?"
"Nothing.."
"That's good, you know I find it interesting that you haven't gone full zombie, you've been like this for over a month huh?"
"Yeah, I don't understand why though"
"Well that's why we're here" she smiled
"Oh by the way, can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead"
"I haven't seen Hoon in a bit so I'm a little worried"
"Well I'm not sure what he's up to exactly but he said I would take over for a bit meanwhile he researched something..and I guess it must be a pretty big important project"
"Oh okay, just making sure nothing bad has happened to him is all"
"No worries he's completely fine!"
Taemin nodded and continued to answer questions. Taemin waited for Hoon, it was pretty difficult for him, he didn't just want to go find him, he felt as if that would be bothersome.
[1 week later]
Taemin was sitting down somewhere outside, he was allowed to go out if he just wasn't near anyone, since he had less possibility of turning into a full zombie soon, they trusted him. Taemin watched as the trees swayed in the air, he was thinking about Hoon, still worried.
'It's been so lonely without himmm...I miss talking and looking at his cute face' he let out a deep sigh 'Man I get depressed so easily...' he looked up at the sky, leaning back on the bench.
'Being apart for a good while has made me realize I only ever want to keep going because I know I'll get to see him the next day...unlike before...I just waited till I rotted...but now...It's different...and it's all because of Hoon' He smiled to himself. He noticed the sun was beginning to set and he began returning to the building and up to his floor. But as he was going to his room he noticed a few people carrying someone out of the floor, not until a moment later Taemim realized who that was, Hoon. He walked towards the room they were heading inside of and peeked through the window door. 'What going on??' Taemin watched as they hurried to place a wet towel on his forehead and tried giving him some medicine. 'Is he sick..?? His he okay??'One of the people, who so happens to be the lady who was Hoon's temporary replacement noticed him, she walked over to the door and opened it looking at Taemin.
"Is he..okay?? What's happened to him?" Taemin's voice was full of worry and fear.
"He should be okay with some rest...I just saw him passed out on his desk, I got worried and checked up on him..turns out he has a fever, and it's probably from overworking..he rarely comes out of his lab room.."
"Ah okay, thanks for telling me, I hope he gets well soon"
"Mhm, me too" she returned back inside the room. Taemin sighed 'At least it's nothing life-threatening...I'll need to talk to him when he gets better' Taemin walked off into his room, he tried falling asleep but the thought of Hoon being sick worried him, he eventually managed to do so however. The next day, As soon as Taemin woke up he went straight to the room where Hoon was and took a peek at the window, seemed like Hoon was up so he knocked. Hoon looked over at the door, he signed with his hand to come in, still lying in bed. Taemin gladly opened the door and walked over to him, he sat down on a chair next to him
"Morning Hoon""Morning"
"Are you feeling any better?"
"A little.."
Taemin nodded "That's good,I heard you might've overworked yourself...you shouldn't do that Hoon"
"Yeah...I know.."
"I got really worried, I haven't seen you all week, I hope you at least drank water and slept well while you were inside that office all day"
"Well...I don't know...I was too focused on my research.."
"I get that were in an Apocolypse and all...but that doesn't mean you shouldn't rush things, take your time with your research, and take care of yourself, Hoon, we can't have you passing out on us, you're important to us, to me.."
"Im sorry..." Hoon looked down "I just..."
"Listen...I would appreciate it if you didn't die before me..there's a high chance I might sooner or later, I want to be able to spend those last moments with you if you'd let me"
Hoon nodded and teared up "I-im sorry Tae...I-its just...I wanted to hurry u-up so you would be able to become a h-human soon, after what you told me that night...I really want you and everyone else to go back to the way you were, I-I hate having to keep killing them every time they turn into full zombies...I hate it!"
"That must be tough..." 'That night...? Does he mean last week..?'
[A week before]
Taemin and Hoon were sitting down on one of the benches near the vegetable garden.
"You think the plan will go well Hoon?"
"Im sure of it~ Dae is a pretty tough and smart guy, he's always in a bad mood but he does the job right!"
"I see, he sounds trustworthy"
"Mhmmmm, I hope things go smooth for us, I want to be able to get rid of those bad guys once and for all"
"Yeah me too, I've seen all kinds of bad groups when the Apocolypse first started...they form pretty quick, and they're either the worst kind of group or just bad in general.."
"That is true...so hey...when you came into this place you said you'd only been half zombie recently, were you out on an expedition for a group or something?"
"Yeah, I was, but the way I died wasn't an accident...I was betrayed by someone"
"Betrayed?? How come??"
"Ah...where do I start..." Taemin thought back to when the Apocolypse first started.
