Fairy Thirty One

Pretty yellow eyes that belong to Upper Rank Three looked around, being greeted by the familiar sights of the infinity fortress.

'The alternate dimension.

The Infinity Fortress.

The fact that I was summoned here means...that an upper rank was killed by Demon Slayers!'

Akaza clenched his fists, his veins bulging, before leaping from the platform. He skillfully navigated the fortress's unique gravity and shifting rooms to make his way across.

He fell through countless warped corridors and halls, speeding past an ornate water garden palace., only to "fall" further past, reaching what seemed to be the bottom and landing onto the floor. As he "fell" further, he seemed to reach the bottom and landed on what appeared to be the floor. However, this surface was actually a wall, aligned with the shifting columns below.

In an instant, he was propelled high above the columns and through an opening in the ceiling, arriving in a vast, maze-like area filled with towering pillars. The twang of a musical instrument followed shortly after.

"Hyo!"

Akaza's attention was taken by the beautiful ceramic pot leaping into the air.

"Well, well, if it isn't you, Akaza-dono! So lovely to see you in such good health! What has it been, 90 years?"

Upper Rank Five, Gyokko appeared from out his pot.

"The thought that you might've perished, made my heart sing—" Gyokko clenched his fist, anguish etched across his features. "It made my worried heart fill with anguish!" A few laughs escaped him before he and Akaza turned their attention to Upper Rank Four, Hantengu.

"Terrifying! Terrifying!"

Hantengu appeared from his crouch position, hands gripping the wooden surface before him as he trembled in fear. "In the time we've been apart, you've even forgotten how to count, Gyokko. It's been 113 years since we were left summoned. An invisible number...unlucky and even...An odd number! Terrifying! Terrifying!"

Ignoring Hantengu, Akaza faced the demon who summon him here.

"Biwa woman! Is Muzan-sama not here?"

Said demon strung her instrument, the musical twang filling the area.

"He has not yet arrived."

"Then, where's Upper One? Don't tell me he's been killed."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Suddenly, all the lights went out, plunging everything into darkness.
