To combat against that fearsome attack, Zahndis breathed in as much air as he could possibly hold inside his lungs, preparing for so far the strongest Howl he would unleash tonight. Suddenly, Zahndis felt something fastly approaching him from behind, which he discovered to be an Orvaund as it pounced on him and he caught it by its jaws full of sharp teeth. The unsightly wolf-like Abomination except with a skin covered by hard shell instead of fur then elongated and sharpened its tongue with an ability similar to Metarealism to change it into a blade intended to pierce through his skull, an end he managed to avoid by taking hold of the tongue just in time even if it scarred his palm until it bleeds. No matter, he can just heal it later.

Darlean must have summoned this Abomination out of hiding in the woods using his Realgalia to help him make sure his onslaught lands, well tough luck for him but Zahndis would turn these fangs back towards him and make it bite the hands of its own master. The neat part is Zahndis doesn't even need to resort to some mystical relic with mind-controlling powers to do it, nor does he consider for longer than a second to use a special tone of Howling to take control of it like he does with wolves, as he already tried to do so in the past and failed. His plan is much more simple than that, just requiring him to throw the oversized shelled canine as hard as he physically can. With that in mind, Zahndis executed his idea by grabbing hold of the Orvaund firmly then throw it with gigantean strength into the line of Darlean's charge, a counterattack he added into by letting loose of the Howling he charged.

A testament to his iron will, Darlean thrusted straight ahead using the lance without even flinching a bit nor is he trying to deflect the incoming counterattack away, as they both know without a doubt that there is not enough time window for them to avoid from colliding with each other. That must be why Darlean decided to shrink and expend even more of his Reality Bubble into the spear to make it grow bigger and rotate faster, to the point that it spun the air around into it, making it a destructive combination of both artificial and natural air.

Both their attacks clashed in mid air, but not for long as the wind lance quickly tore apart the Orvaund's body, snuffing its life with not even a whimper as the place rained with torn flesh and blue bloods. Even the Howl he charged up so much was repelled rather easily by the manipulation of the air, only making Darlean close one of his ears with a hand as it was redirected towards nothingness. Yet, that was a satisfactory outcome in Zahndis' eyes, as it whittled down the size of Darlean's ruin manifest to a more manageable size.

After all, it's foolish for a Metarealist like Zahndis to expect techniques like his Howling and Clawing which is a pale imitation of Crealtionism to do much in a fight between Realters, especially against an actual Crealtionist and from a distance away no less. What he was actually aiming for is weakening Darlean's assault enough for him to stop it with the greatest advantage he posses in his strength, and he won't do it bare handed and instead utilize something he prepared beforehand.

Zahndis might have not achieved the pinnacle of Realvamp with a full transformation into his Trueself known as a Werewolf, yet he has mastered his partial transformation so well that he can focus all his powers on his right hand, allowing him to shift its shape into a hulking beastly arm covered in thick black fur and complete with claws as sharp as blades. To not receive the full force of the strike, he reached for the Staff from below and gripped it tight even as the wind flayed the skin and flesh of not only his arm but also the left side of his body, forcing him to bite his own lips until it bleeds to bear through the unimaginable pain. Zahndis continued to throw the Staff upwards to thwart the damage entirely and render the Realgalia useless, in addition to opening Darlean for an attack as he Realvamped his left hand into a claw and immediately took a swing at Darlean's side.

Realizing his intent, Darlean opted to release the wind spear and launched it as the Staff was halfway through its way upwards, thus shooting it past his shoulder and face, shredding them quite badly in the process before flying into the forest. Despite that, getting momentarily blinded on one of his eyes didn't slow the man at all from clawing his opponent's stomach so strongly that blood spurts out and he was pushed into falling off and tumbling from the Qaztuur's top into the ground, his Reality Bubble failing to protect him as both of theirs have occupied the same spot then nullified each other's.
