- He has to put Will in a hot room, without being able to change the temperature.

- But how?

- Don't know yet.

Maya looked at Steve and pointed at Max, Dustin, Lucas and Mike.

- Where are you going, Maya?

- I'm going to stay with my brother Steve, don't worry, I'm safe. In the meantime, you whistle the upside down.

Max looked at Maya, letting her know she wanted to talk.

Maya locked the door and they began to talk.

- are you going to leave me?

- Don't worry, Max, I'll be there for you, but from a distance.

Maya took Max in her arms, smiling, she couldn't believe she was going to leave Max without her.

- I'll miss you, May.

- Me too, Maxi.

Suddenly, someone opened the door without warning. It was Steve, which didn't surprise Maya.

- Steve! Knock next time!

- Sorry, Max, let's go.

As they left the room with Steve, they all began to say their goodbyes, knowing that when they saw each other again, it would be when it was all over.

- Promise me one thing, May, don't sacrifice yourself.

- Pinki promise.

She took young Mayfield in her arms, hugging her tightly.

- I love you, Mayfield.

- I love you more, Byers.

She let go of Max, and watched her go slowly, smiling.

- Max!

The girl turned back to Maya, smiling.

- Be careful, okay?

She smiled back and left with the others.

She turned to Joyce, Hopper, Nancy and Jonathan with a smile.

- I've got a plan.

- Jonathan will get Will and take him to the cabin at the back.

Maya took a heater, plugged it in and put it on a table, then set up a sort of bed where Will would be tied up.

- Are we really going to tie him up?

- I don't see any other solution.

Jonathan came over to Will and looked at Maya, confused.

- Jonathan, put him down.

Jonathan complied, and Maya began to tie him up with a piece of leather, making rather strong knots.

She turned on the heater and sat down next to her mother, frightened.

- Mom, everything's going to be okay, I promise.

- I promise. Okay.

- Get ready to be warm.

At that moment, Maya felt another chill down her neck and realized that something was nearby: the mind flayers.

At that moment, Will woke up, looked at everyone in the room and then at Joyce.

- Mom, what's going on?

- Don't worry, darling, I'm here to help you.

- Let me go! Let me go!

Maya tried to reattach her right arm, but just as she did, Will slipped out and grabbed Maya by the neck.
