It was a month after all that, and Maya was getting ready, putting on a suit and stealing it from Jonathan's wardrobe.

She walked to her brother's room and knocked.

- What do you think?

- amazing, you look awsome!

- thanks, Jo!

She then headed for the kitchen where Joyce prepared her hair.

- Hi, how do I look?

- Hi, oh... wow, you look amazing.

- Thanks, Mom.

She sat down on a chair while her mother went to get all the products for her hair.

She came back and started by wetting the hair, then began to define the curls one by one. Maya thought she was doing well for the first time, as before she was the one who did everyone's hair.

- Am I hurting you?

- No, you're not.

She continued until she'd done all the hair, then went off to get the hairdryer.

- Don't forget the diffuser!

- Don't forget the diffuser!

She plugged in the appliance and Maya tilted her head.

- How does this work?

- You put my hair in the diffuser and wait, turning on the dryer.

- Okay, like that?

- Yes, well done!

Someone knocked on the door while Joyce dried her daughter's hair, Maya picked up the dryer while Joyce went to open the door.

- Steve? What are you doing?

- I'm picking up Maya.

- Please come in.

- Thank you, Steve.

He entered the house and sat down on a chair, checked Maya out and then the three of them started talking.

- Didn't you tell me Steve was coming to get you, sunshine?

- I'm sorry, I forgot.

- I came early because we're picking up Dustin later.

- I'm sorry.

- Let me know next time, I didn't know we were picking up Dustin and what the hell, we're picking up a bear.

- Maya.

- Sorry, Steve.

Maya laughed silently and they continued to talk about everything.

- That's it, I'm done!

Maya ran to a mirror and admired her hair, then ran to her mother and hugged her.

- Thank you! Thank you!

- Well, Maya, shall we go?

- See you tonight, Mom.

They left the house, got into the car and Maya began to negotiate putting on some music.

- Please, Steve!

- Rohh, ok.

She smiled at him and put on some music, Maya put on Blondie's Call Me, and they began to move to the music.

A few minutes later, they arrived in front of Dustin's house, Maya got out of the car and knocked on the door.

- Hello Claudia, I'm here to pick up Dustin for the ball.
