She found her strength in God a steadfast refuge
Yet her heart still ached holding on to his memory
The boy who'd once held her heart now distant and cold
Had found another to love his love story told
But she still harboured feelings a hope that wouldn't die
Yet her struggle with forgiveness deep within her soul did lie
She turn to God a beacon in the night
Her heart heavy torn with pain and fright
She knew forgiveness was the way
But still within her anger and doubt did sway
She longed for him still his touch, his smile
Yet knew it was time to let him go for at least for awhile
For only in forgiving could her heart heal
And find the peace that she'd been seeking all this while
She wrestled with her heart the pain so deep
Struggling to let go yet knowing that's what's needed
She knew that forgiveness was the only way
To free herself from this cycle of pain and decay
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes
And with all her might she let her grievances subside
She released the pain, the hurt, and the anger
As forgiveness took its place, her heart started to feel calmer
