Those secrets and lies will continue to follow you, Brigitte.
Till the time is right, you will wait.
Be careful, now that I've found you.

Red on white paper. I had never thought something like that would somehow terrify me so much. I hadn't slept at all and as I looked into the mirror of the school bathroom I immediately turned back around. The dark blue bags under my eyes looked even more horrible today and I just wanted to go home.

We had lunch break, I had lost my appetite and my head started to ache too, nevertheless my aunt had already paid for the food that's why I had no choice but to take it to the table in the back. The popular kids would usually sit in the front therefore I was sure not to be bothered at all.

As I stared at my food I thought back to when I opened the latest letter I had received on Saturday. It was not only the content but the pictures. The person that had sent it was watching me and the worst thing was that I was growing more paranoid every second. It was messing with my head so much that I almost started crying again.
Helpless. I was helpless and I could not tell anybody. It was too personal and I just desperately wanted to know who could be behind all that.

"Qué tal? You okay, Bri?" I looked up to see Hèctor standing in front of my table, concerned.

I gulped. I was afraid that I if I would speak now, I would over share every thought that was concerning me at this point.
Héctor's warm brown eyes were not making it easy for me. "Yeah- uhm.. I'm okay. Everything's good." I reassured him although he already seemed to notice the insecurity in my voice.

"Seriously, I don't believe you. You look tired." He remarked. I put my hands in front of my face, I felt so disgusting and I didn't want Héctor to see me like this.

"No no no, don't do that Bri. You look.. cute without makeup." I shook my head while he tried to remove my hands from my face. Deep inside of me, his compliment didn't get unnoticed though, it made me feel better although there were so many things that troubled me.

"Then stop looking at me, Héctor." I stated but couldn't help to peek through one of my hands to see him smiling cheekily at me.

"I could never." he muttered under his breath "alright, follow me. I want you to sit with me." I blushed as he helped me to stand up. He took my tray and walked ahead.

"Aiii, Brigitte." Lamine greeted me. He stood up and grinned at me, showing off his white teeth, his braces glistening.

"Porfa, sit next to me." He looked at me with puppy eyes and I didn't even get to say 'Hi' anymore. I giggled while looking back and forth between Héctor and Lamine. "Sólo cállate, puta." Héctor rolled his eyes.

"It will be okay for once, bebe." Lamine winked at Héctor while gesturing me to sit down next to him.

"Are you okay?" Marc, who sat beside Héctor on the other side of the table, asked with the same concern. It was kind that they asked but at this point I was really sure that I looked like a zombie wandering around.

"I just couldn't sleep, I guess." I shrugged with my shoulders.

"Nah, that's not normal though. You look sick. Are you sure you're okay?" Lamine held the back of his hand to my forehead and I was startled with how cold it actually was.

"Marc, do something!" I heard Héctor mutter and I looked at him, curious.

"Auwhhha!!" Lamine screamed next to me and I couldn't help but to laugh after he made me jump so suddenly. They must have kicked him and I could already imagine how they'd act like little kids again. The same as in the café when we all first met.
