Heads up: Clown x Sid request

Third Person POV

Sid had been tossing and turning in his bed, unable to fall back asleep.

It was already way past midnight— maybe around two in the morning?

He wasn't quite sure.

All he could think of was the nightmare he had experienced about an hour ago. It was probably the worst one he ever had, as he had woken up, shirt drenched in sweat, and his eyes were watery with tears. He didn't even want to think back about it.

And the DJ definitely hadn't been able to sleep since then, no matter how hard he tried. He had taken a few pills, swallowing the bitter things down with the help of some water. But they didn't do jack for him.

Eventually, Sid quietly sighed, draping a hand over his tear-stained face, deciding to try something that might help him.

He got out of bed, his pillow in his arms as he quietly tiptoed out of his room, avoiding all the creaky planks on the floor, as to not wake up any of the other guys.

He made his way over to one of his bandmate's room— Clown's bedroom, to be specific. His hand reached out to the grip the doorknob, hesitating for a second, before opening it just a little bit, enough for him to stick his head in.

"Shawn...?" He mumbled, his voice quiet and slightly hoarse from crying so much.

Shawn groggily woke up to the sound of his name being called. He slowly sat up, propping his upper body up with his elbow as his free hand rubbed his eyes. He peered over at Sid.

"Hm ..? What's up, baby?.." Shawn asked tiredly, his eyes focusing on the small figure at his bedroom door.

"I... I can't fall asleep... I had a nightmare," Sid meekly replied, hugging his pillow closer to his chest. He was hinting at something, though was a little too embarrassed to straight-up ask for it.

"..."

Shawn fully knew what that implied. He chuckled.

"Come here, princess..."

He patted the area beside him, making some room for Sid to lay down.

The smaller man quickly walked into the room, quietly shutting the door behind him.

He was very grateful that the other had picked up the little hint he had did his best to drop without sounding desperate.

Once near the bed, he crawled onto the comfortable mattress, shuffling under the covers, next to his bandmate. He still had his pillow in his arms as he laid rather closely to Shawn, their bodies slightly touching one another's.

Shawn scooted a little closer to him once he laid down, one arm wrapping around the smaller man's waist. He pulled the other close until there was no space between them, being mindful of Sid's pillow.

"You're okay, sweetheart..." He murmured into his ear, pressing a gentle kiss to his neck.

That seemed to have calmed Sid down a bit, his shaky breaths gradually returning to normal, and the fear slowly subsiding.

He closed his eyes and snuggled against the drummer, his pillow practically sandwiched in between their bodies.

Shawn hummed, his arm around Sid's waist holding him close. He gently nuzzled his face into the other man's neck, pressing more soft, featherlight kisses to the skin.

"What was the nightmare about, baby...?" He whispered, his voice laced with sleepiness. He gently caressed Sid's side with his thumb.

"Mmn..." The DJ tiredly mumbled, shaking his head ever so slightly, as if trying to say 'no'. It seemed to have scared him that much that he didn't want to think about it, much less talk about.

He seemed to just want some cuddles right now. And maybe some sleep, too.

Shawn didn't press it any further, just nodded in understanding. The last thing he wanted was to make Sid any more upset by bringing it up.

So instead, he just pulled him impossibly closer, holding him protectively in his arms. He continued pressing soft kisses to his neck and shoulder, the other arm that was underneath the smaller man's pillow wrapping around his middle.

"Shhh..." He whispered soothingly. "I got you, princess.."

A few minutes of silence passed between the two, before Sid's eyes opened slightly, staring at the man in front of him for a second or two. He then spoke up, voice almost inaudible, and a tiny bit shaky.

"Shawny...?" He mumbled, as if checking if the other was awake or not, a question lingering in his mind that he wanted to ask.

Shawn softly grunted, letting him know that he was indeed awake.

"Hm? What is it, doll?..." He mumbled, shifting a bit to get comfortable. He still held the other against him, his arms wrapped securely around his petite form, as if worried the other man would slip out of his arms.

The turntablist hesitated for a second, before ultimately asking what had been on his mind.

"Are you ever going to leave me...?" His words were laced with an undertone of anxiousness, as if worried a situation like that would happen.

Shawn immediately picked up on the nervousness in his tone, and it caused his heart to ache.

"Of course not, baby..." He told him gently, holding him impossibly closer.

"I'm here to stay, I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me."

He pressed a kiss to the top of Sid's head, nuzzling his face into his hair.

"You promise?" Sid sounded a little less nervous than before, but was obviously still worried. "Even if... even if you meet someone prettier than me? ...or smarter than me?"

It was about now that Shawn realised that the other's concerns were likely from that particular nightmare that he didn't want to talk about, the same one that had kept an anxious Sid up at night for hours.

Shawn felt his heart twist in sadness. The last thing he wanted was for Sid to think that he'd replace him for "someone prettier" or "smarter". That wasn't going to happen. No way in hell. And he was going to make damn sure that Sid understood that.

"Oh baby," he started, gently cupping the other's face in his hand. He made him look him in the eye, "I promise. I'm not going to leave you, or leave you for anyone else. You are more than enough for me."

Those words provided Sid with a comfort like no other, a wave of relief and appreciation washing over him, his anxiety almost instantly fading away as he heard the truth in the other's words.

"Mmm..." He snuggled close to Shawn once again, his head gently nuzzling his bandmate's chest, both to show affection, and also because he was slowly becoming more tired.

"... I love you," the DJ soon muttered, his eyes tearing up once more. However, this time, it wasn't from sadness, but rather an overwhelming sense of solace and contentment making him feel a little emotionally sensitive.

"I love you more," Shawn whispered, gently carding a hand through Sid's hair. He pulled the blanket on top of them both, covering their bodies to keep them warm.

He held Sid to his chest, his hand gently running down the smaller man's back. He pressed kisses to his forehead and the top of his head, feeling him snuggle even closer to him.

"Go to sleep, sweetheart.. I'll be here when you wake up."

And with that, the little DJ began to succumb to his fatigue, eyes closing once more as he let out a tiny yawn, falling into a peaceful sleep.
