I wore the black dress, Melanie also wore the same color. Mine was long-sleeved, had a square neck, was really short like only covered my butt and had a slit on the left side. "I look like a slut. This dress is mad short." I said as I uncomfortably pulled it down. "No you look ridiculously fine, I have such great taste." she said with a huge grin while eyeing my dress. "BTW, I am not wearing heels." I added. "Relax, I know you'd never do that, but I will." she giggled.
Melanie's dress was even better, it's material was literally silk and ruched which was sleeveless compared to mine. Even though it had little detail, it suited her perfectly. It took time to get our makeup and hair done. I didn't want alot so straight hair was alright with me. I slid into black and white Jordan's and we were ready to go.
The place wasn't far from our room so in a few minutes we had arrived. Damien must have said that the party wouldn't be a big deal but it was bursting with the aura of a mass population. The house was huge and I didn't even think that students own it until Melanie told me that it was a dorm for all basketball players.
The music was so loud I couldn't even hear what Melanie was talking to me about. And maybe it was because I was too focused on people and the dance floor. I really loved dancing and frankly speaking, it was the only thing that drew me closer to any party.
"Hey, ya'll made it!" Damien shouted after popping out from nowhere, dapping both Melanie and I up. "We couldn't miss it for the world." she shouted over the loud music. "Love that you came, make yo' selves comfortable with some shots." he gestured over to a mini bar, smirking at Melanie then winking at me. "You heard the nigga." she said after he left. "No, I don't wanna get wasted, that's too irresponsible of me anyways." I denied.
"Girl stop it with her mother attitude, you're gonna make me sick. You're drinking shots willingly or not." she pulls me towards the bar. "That's a massive violation Melanie."
"The file a complaint and put me behind bars you slut." she chuckled before I playfully punched her shoulder because of what she called me. She ordered god knows what type of shots and forced me to gulp. It tasted heavily bitter and like nothing I had ever had that it took me so long to recover my face from a scrunched one. "Wanna dance?" she questioned.
"No."
"Party popper, yuck! I'm going to warm up my body."
"Yeah, I'll join you when I'm ready." I said nonchalantly seeing was already staggering with the few shots she took. At least I only drank one, I could consciously do whatever I liked. So I sat there, bored, watching Melanie dance as I regretted coming. Thinking about Ethan who was getting high with his friends and thinking about our dry unsatisfying relationship.
"You know a party's not a place for thinking, right?" a deep voice said beside me. A very unfamiliar voice so I turned my head and was met with God's finest creations. Not as fine as Ethan though, right?
"Uum, I'm not th-thinking." he even made me stutter. "Seriously? You're literally staring blankly at a crowd having fun, why don't you go join them?" he asked.
"Because I don't feel like it." I replied curtly but but wanted him to stay somehow. "I'm Ashton." he introduced himself, stretching out his hand. "Lola." I responded as we shook hands. He stared at my hand for a moment as if he wanted to caress it or something. To be honest, I knew whenever a guy was interested in me or not, his body language, face and speech could say it all no matter how hard one tried to hide it. Just like how Ethan was when he first approached me.
"You got a beautiful name." he said hesitantly. Was he nervous? "Thanks," I responded neutrally. "You're ranting about me not having any fun, what are you even doing?" I chuckled.
"I'm having fun, I was just dancing a few seconds ago, now I'm drinking a beer." he said. Drinking didn't even suit him because he had such an innocent baby face. In this case, we can say he was thee reason for the party because he was the man of the match, Ashton Kingsley. I recognized him yes, but I wasn't going to tell him that.
"Okay," I started. "I'm gonna have some fun." I said as he stared at me intently. I picked up another shot and gulped it down my throat feeling the horrible burn. Then another and another. Melanie would have been so proud of me.
"I think you should slow down, those are strong." Ashton said. "I know." I said while already staggering after standing up. "I'm going to dance, wanna join me? I know you just did but I don't care." I said waiting for a response. He smiled with a little shrug. He was so innocent. "No problem."
Unconsciously pulling him onto the dance floor, I started dancing like a crazy person as he played along. To be honest, he was actually crazy, like his face expressions, his dances and everything he did. Ethan was not anything like this, he was a serious, blank nonchalant person. "You're dance moves are on fire." he complimented. "And s-so are yourssss!"I staggered a little. It had been long since I had a drink and I felt so out of control at the moment.
"I might have not mentioned this before," he said as he leaned in closer to my ear. "But you look stunning in that dress." he said sweetly as his eyes roamed up and down my body. I wanted to thank him right away but when his eyes met mine again, it was like I was hypnotized and couldn't stop drowning in his dark eyes. "Ashton, I..." I wanted to get something out but I couldn't. "You?"he asked intently, still studying my eyes.
"I..." then suddenly, I feel his breath on my bare skin and the next thing, I remembered was him placing his lips on mine then everything went pitch black.***
