Never thought you'd be a stranger

But you decided that's who you would be now

Don't know where you live or what you love

But ignorance is keeping me sane somehow

Keep That to Yourself- Tristan

Aron stood in front of the mirror, staring at her figure. She was wearing a navy-blue long-sleeved dress, her blonde hair in a half up- half down style and some silver jewelry, rings, earrings and a necklace. She kept looking at the time and her messages, waiting for Andrew to arrive. She wanted to wait until he was already in front of the mansion to walk out, she didn't want to be questioned about where she was going or why she was so dressed up.

Aron suddenly heard Simon Tabby squeak, causing her to look over at the dresser where he was sitting. The creepy stuffed squirrel was the only remaining evidence she had of the boy's existence after they left, so she kept him like a normal pet. He was rather sweet, other than his stealing habits.

"This is such a mess, isn't it?" she asked him as she petted his head, receiving an evil sounding giggle. She'd learned to tell the different laughs apart, this one seemed happy, or as happy as his ever could be. She hummed in thought, wondering if it was too mean to ask him to terrorize the boys for a bit to distract them so she could leave without being spotted.

Apparently, Simon planned on bothering her instead, because suddenly he was running off with an actually evil laugh and the ring on that hand was gone. She gasped in shock and immediately ran after him.

"Simon!" Aron yelled, chasing him out of her room. She went to follow him, but running down the stairs wasn't her smartest idea. Suddenly, she was falling with a shriek. It wasn't the first time she'd fallen down the stairs; it was actually a common thing for her. She was always quite clumsy.

She was surprised when instead of tumbling down the stairs and to the floor, she was caught by a strong pair of arms. Her eyes were clamped shut, but she didn't have to open them to know it was Sam who caught her.

He held her close, his arms firm around her. "...I gotcha. Are you alright?"

Aron swallowed hard and opened her eyes, landing immediately on his. She nodded slightly, her ears ringing and her heart pounding so loud she could barely hear her own thoughts. His eyes were intense, and for just a split second they fell to her lips and back to her eyes. It was like the entire world moved in slow motion; she felt frozen in place. It felt so right for a moment, like he'd never even left.

He looked like he was about to say something when suddenly, like a bucket of ice water, she snapped out of it and stood up on her own, stepping away and averting her eyes from the frown on his face. Neither of them said anything, but she could feel him looking at her.

She wouldn't let herself care. If he wanted her, he shouldn't have left.

In the distance, she heard Matthew shriek from his room, followed by him shouting Simon's name. Sam was suddenly gone thanks to his super speed, likely going to check on Matthew. Aron thought hard as she went back to her room to grab her phone and wallet, trying to not think too hard about how she wanted to kiss Sam for a moment.

She decided to stand outside to wait for Andrew, who soon pulled into the yard. He got out of the car and smiled warmly, wearing a nice tux. "..you look, wow..." he said softly with a goofy grin.

Aron blushed and walked over. "Thanks, you look great."

Andrew drove them to a nearby restaurant that he booked reservations for. He was being a perfect gentleman; opening the car doors for her, making sure she was comfortable. It was the typical idea of a perfect date. Andrew acted so perfectly yet so awkward, a perfect balance between the two. She almost didn't think of Sam at all.

They got to their table and ordered their food, making small talk as they waited. "So, how's work going after you changed roles?" she asked him.

"It's good! I get to help make toys without the pressure of becoming a CEO. It's nice not having my father breathing down my back," he chuckled. "What about you? Where are you working?"

"I work the front desk at a dentist office in town," she lied easily with a soft smile. "I'm looking for a new job though."

She'd often lie about looking for a new job so if someone went to the place she was 'working at,' she would have an excuse as to why she was never there. It raised a few concerns about her job stability, but she couldn't tell anyone the truth.

Before he could question her further, the waiter brought out their food. Perfect timing, Aron thought as she thanked the man for their food. Soon, the conversation started to progress past small talk and to more personal topics.

"Have you been in any past relationships?" Andrew asked her curiously.

Aron could have sworn she felt a part of her heart break as she answered. "Not- no, not anything worth mentioning." She kept a smile on her face, mentally conflicted.

It wasn't exactly a lie. Her and Sam weren't even together a day.

"Oh! Cool! Me either, heh," Andrew said as they went back to eating. The rest of dinner went as perfect as they could hope for, and Aron found herself hardly thinking of Sam. She just thought about how much she didn't want to think about him and thought about how she definitely wasn't thinking about him. Which technically was different than actually thinking about him,

Soon, they finished and left the restaurant. The car ride was nice, the conversation was gentle and light. When they got to the mansion, Andrew scrambled over to her door to open it for her, making her giggle softly as she got out. "Thanks."

"No problem!" he said. "So, would you, em," he cleared his throat, blushing. "Would you like to do this again sometime? If not, then that's understandable!"

Her smile grew. "I'd like that a lot."

He grinned even more and walked with her to the front door of the mansion. When they got to the door, he took her hand and kissed over her knuckles before he left. She found herself still smiling a bit as she opened the door, her heart rate elevated a bit. Andrew made her happy, it was easy with him, and she could see herself building a relationship with him if she got her shit together.

She needed to forget Sam, there was no reason for the memory of what she thought they had to get in the way of building a relationship with Andrew.

She shook off the thought and went straight to her room.
