I tried to love you, but you're not my type
Tried to pretend, but it just don't feel right
To be you're number one
Should have known better, I tried to stay cool
You were telling me I'm such a fool to say no
Animal- Sir Chloe
Aron stayed in the shower for a while, her mind raising as she tried to make sense of it all. She needed to talk to Sam and the others, otherwise she would never understand the full circumstances regarding their departure. She tried to convince herself it was a trick, that Damien had only told her so she would trust them again. Even knowing that Diana had put a spell on her, how could she be sure that's what happened? What if it was a spell the boys had placed on her in an attempt to trick her into thinking it was Diana? What if it was a spell to affect her magic, not her beliefs?
Finally, she got out to grab a towel, drying off herself as quickly as she could. She got dressed, putting on large baggy ripped jeans and an oversized long sleeved gray shirt with black designs on the front.
Aron didn't believe the boys, but for once, she was interested in their side of the story. Once she was dressed, she put her phone in her pocket and rushed out of her room.
James, who was currently walking through the hall, must have noticed her rush. "Is everything alright, Miss?"
She nodded quickly. "Yeah! Everything's fine, where is Sam?"
He raised his eyebrows in shock. "I believe he's out front."
Aron immediately ran that way, not giving him time to question her further. She opened the door, looking around until her eyes landed on Sam. He was practicing tai chi, freezing when he saw her. She could hear her heart as it pounded in her chest, her body feeling light as their eyes met.
"Hey," she said softly as she walked over to him, her hands trembling.
Sam didn't dare break their eye contact, looking down at her as she stood in front of him. "Hey...do you need the front yard? I can-"
"No!" she interrupted him suddenly. "No- I just need- we need to talk. Please, I just...can we please talk?"
He looked shocked and a little concerned, furrowing his eyebrows. "Yeah, we can."
Despite their agreement to talk, they stood there wordlessly. Aron felt her anxiety in her chest, her eyes watering. When she found her voice, it was soft and trembling. "Damien told me that-"
Aron was cut off by a familiar car pulling into the front yard, Andrew smiling when she looked over at him. She looked back to Sam, who hadn't looked away from her, then back to Andrew, who was rolling down his window. "Hey! I know this is kind of sudden, but I was thinking we could go to a nature trail not too far from here!"
Aron bit the inside of her cheek. This was a perfect time to break it off with Andrew, as awful and guilty as it made her feel. She needed to do it before they left. She glanced at Sam for a split second before looking again. "Um...sure! Just give me a second," she requested.
"Okay!" Andrew said with a grin as Aron turned her attention back to Sam.
Her chin wobbled slightly, and she hastily wiped the single tear that had fallen down her cheek as she looked at him. He frowned, not saying anything. "I'll be back," she told him shakily.
