I don't need to breathe when you look at me, all I see is green
And I think that we're in between everything I've seen
In my dream, have it once a week, can't land on my feet
Can't sleep, have you underneath all of my beliefs

Aron felt herself wake up, groaning softly as she stretched and clamped her eyes shut. Her body was aching with exhaustion, her head pounding. She rubbed her face as she tried to remember how she'd gotten here.
She began to replay the memory in her mind, shooting up when she remembered Erik's injury. She looked around frantically, preparing to rush to him, but froze when she saw Sam sitting in the chair beside her bed, worry etched in his features.
"Hey," he said softly. "How do ya feel?"
She shrugged. "Fine, just- where's Erik? Is he okay?"
Sam gave her a goofy grin, sending electricity to her heart. "He's fine, Doofus. He was able to use the energy you gave him to heal."
Aron looked at him for a moment before letting out a sigh of relief, flopping back down onto the bed. "Thank God."
Aron let herself take in Sam's features, his tired green eyes, his messy dark brown hair. She pulled her blanket over herself as she giggled. "I feel like I just got deja vu. Like, after Diana came to my job and sent us all home. Damien showed me that vision and when I woke up, you were sitting there. This just reminded me of that," she rambled sleepily.
He looked at her for a moment before chuckling. "Yeah, I remember."
She nodded and looked up at him, smiling softly. "How long have I been asleep?"
"Almost a whole day," he said, making her eyebrows shoot up.
"Seriously!?" she asked in shock.
"Yeah, you were pretty drained..."
She sighed and stood up slowly, stretching. "I'll be right back," she said before walking to the bathroom.
She brushed her teeth and washed her face, trying to make herself feel a bit more alive after sleeping for so long. She changed into a plain shirt and some shorts, nothing fancy. She looked in the mirror as she combed through her hair, her mind whirling as she thought about the incubus in her room.
Do I still love him?
Is it worth it?
After everything that happened, she couldn't help but be a little apprehensive. She kept replaying the last year in her mind; the pain and turmoil that nearly ruined her. The pain she'd blamed him for. It was surely a possibility that they were tricking her, that she was letting her guard down at a time she needed it the most.
But it's worth it for him.
Aron swallowed and walked back into the room, seeing him still in the seat. She walked over to him, standing in front of the chair he sat in. What she was about to do was impulsive, but necessary. Necessary for his sake and her own. He deserved an answer, and she deserved the closure of giving one.
The words she'd avoided saying, the words she'd avoided hearing, the words she'd avoided even thinking; they finally slipped between her lips.
"I love you."
Sam seemed to freeze for a moment, his eyes stuck on hers. She felt her heart pound in her chest as she looked back at him, unable to miss the watering in his eyes. He stood up, eyes intense and burning with love. It made Aron weak in the knees, and she had to remind herself to breathe.
