"Annie, are you in there?" Taehyung called out anxiously from behind the closed door.

Annie's heart raced. Despite the hurt Jungkook had caused her, she didn't want any conflict between him and Taehyung. They were more than bandmates; they were like brothers. She knew how much Jungkook looked up to his hyungs, mentioning them often and respecting them like parents. If Taehyung saw the condition of the house, he would surely pick a fight with Jungkook. Taehyung was already doing so much for her, and she didn't want him to get into more trouble.

"You have to go," she said to Jungkook firmly.

"What—" Jungkook started, but she swiftly covered his mouth with her hand.

"Just leave through the window. I don't want him to see you here," she whispered urgently.

Jungkook kissed her palm, but she glared at him and removed her hand.

"Let him see me here. He knows you belong to me. I'm not afraid of anyone," Jungkook answered softly.

"Jungkook, leave right now," she said sternly.

Jungkook smirked.

"What will I get if I go, hmm?" he teased, raising an eyebrow.

She shot him an angry look.

"Annie?" Taehyung's voice interrupted again with another knock.

Annie panicked, and Jungkook seemed to relish the tension. He had no fear of anyone; he boldly asserted his claim over her, regardless of who might witness it.

"You have to come to meet me tomorrow if I leave," Jungkook insisted.

"I'll never—"

"As you wish, babe. I'm going to open the door."

"Wait!" She sighed angrily.

"Fine, I'll, just go," she said, he headed towards the window.

Annie breathed a sigh of relief, but he suddenly turned back towards her.

He gently cupped her face in his hands. Annie thought he was going to kiss her. She had done this to protect him, but if he kissed her now, she would scream. Just as she was about to protest, he pressed a loving kiss on her forehead, causing her heart to race and weaken.

"I love you," he whispered before leaving.

Her heart continued to race. It wasn't easy to hate someone she had loved so deeply.

Annie composed herself and opened the door slowly.

"What took you so long?" Taehyung asked concernedly.

"I—I was in the bathroom," she replied quickly.

Taehyung stepped inside and surveyed the mess.

"What the—this whole apartment is a mess. Who broke all these things?" he asked, bewildered.

Annie glanced around at the wreckage that Jungkook had left in his anger. She remembered his bleeding hand and clenched her fists.

It was painful to see him hurt himself. Her heart bled more than his hand, but she refused to show any emotion.

"This place holds a lot of memories of him. I broke things in anger," she lied, her voice strained.

Taehyung pursed his lips, clearly skeptical. He had heard Jungkook's voice inside, but he chose not to pursue it further. He had a better plan for him.

"Wait, what's on your lips?" Taehyung asked suddenly, his gaze fixated on her bruised lips.

Annie swallowed hard. Jungkook had bitten her lip, but she couldn't tell Taehyung that.
