Manik had increased security measures around Nandini. Discreetly placed cameras and security personnel ensured her safety without being intrusive. Manik's daily gestures of affection became more elaborate. Each morning, Nandini found a different flower on her desk with a handwritten note to brighten her day. Not just roses—there were lilies, sunflowers, daisies, and even exotic orchids. Every note carried a message of encouragement, care, and a touch of humor. In return, Nandini would often leave a piece of chocolate or share her favorite sweets with him, creating a sweet exchange that both of them looked forward to.

It was Thursday around 11:15 AM, and Nandini was in Manik's cabin. They had just finished a crucial meeting with Mr. Daniel and Mr. Gautam regarding a new business venture. As the meeting concluded, everyone left the cabin except Nandini. Manik sat back in his chair, his hand on his forehead, looking as if the weight of the world was pressing down on him.

Seeing his distress, Nandini's concern for him overshadowed her own worries. She got up from her seat and walked behind Manik's chair. Gently, she placed her hands on his temples and began to massage his forehead.

Manik almost asked, "What are you doing?" but before he could finish, she shushed him softly, continuing her gentle massage. The tension in his body began to melt away, his eyes fluttering closed as he felt the stress dissipate under her touch. The room fell into a peaceful silence, a calmness enveloping them both.

After a few moments, Manik, eyes still closed, spoke softly, "Nandini, you know there are different kinds of romance. Since we both know that you like me way too much—"

Nandini cut him off, her hands pausing. "Mr. Malhotra, who said I like you?"

Manik's eyes snapped open, and he turned his chair dramatically to face her, causing her to step back in surprise. His expression was one of shock and curiosity, one eyebrow raised. "So, you're saying you don't like me?"

Nandini, trying to appear indifferent, looked away and said, "When did I say that I don't like you?"

"So that means you like me," Manik stated, leaning closer.

"Where did I say I like you?" Nandini countered, her voice steady but her eyes betraying her amusement.

Manik, growing irritated and playful at the same time, swiftly pulled Nandini onto his lap, surprising her. "Manik, what are you doing? Let me go! Someone might come in," she protested, her voice a mix of alarm and laughter.

"They won't come in without my permission," Manik said firmly, holding her in place. "And stop wiggling. You're not getting up until you answer me. So, stop playing games with me, Nandini. What do you mean?"

Nandini, her cheeks flushed, looked anywhere but at Manik. "You're impossible," she muttered.

Manik smirked, his grip on her waist gentle but firm. "I'm waiting," he said, his tone teasing yet serious.

She sighed, realizing she was trapped in more ways than one. "Fine, I admit it. I like you, okay? Happy now?"

Manik's eyes softened, and he smiled. "Very happy," he said, his voice gentle. "And for the record, I like you too. A lot."

Nandini's heart skipped a beat. Despite the playful tone, she could see the sincerity in his eyes. "I'm glad," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Manik pulled her closer, resting his forehead against hers. "I don't want anything to happen to you, Nandini. That's why I've been so cautious with security. You mean a lot to me."

Nandini's eyes softened, her heart swelling with affection. "I know, Manik. And I appreciate it. But you have to let me take care of you too. Like just now, you were so tense."

Manik chuckled softly. "Alright, I'll let you take care of me. But only if you promise to stay safe and let me protect you."

"It's a deal," she said with a smile.

They stayed like that for a few moments, enjoying the quiet intimacy. The playful banter, the shared smiles, and the heartfelt confessions created a deeper bond between them.

Nandini eventually slid off Manik's lap, straightening her clothes. "We should get back to work," she said, though her eyes lingered on his for a moment longer.

"Right," Manik agreed, though he seemed reluctant to let the moment end. "But remember, the chocolates better keep coming."

Nandini laughed. "Only if the flowers do too."

"Deal," Manik said, watching her leave with a smile that lingered long after she had gone.
