*a few days later*
Aubrey
"Good morning, sunshine!" I exclaimed. I strolled into the hospital room, a wide grin plastered on my face. Today is the day that Harry gets released from the hospital. I've been kind of excited, because he seems to be doing a lot better. "I brought you some breakfast, I hope you're hungry." I handed Harry a bottle of orange juice and a breakfast sandwich. "Of course, it's only from the gas station down the road...but I tried." I diverted my eyes, looking at the floor.
"A real man is always hungry, so I don't really care where it's from." Harry grabbed my hand, giving it a quick squeeze before letting go and biting into his food. After a couple of minutes, one of Harry's nurses came into the room.
"Okay, Mr. Styles, we've finished all of your paperwork and you're free to go. If you need anything, make sure to give Dr. Atkins a call. We've also made a follow-up appointment for a date sometime in the next few months. You can pick that information up at Shelley's desk. Any questions?" The nurse smiled, a slight flush in her cheeks. "None," Harry said, standing from his bed. "Fantastic! Have a good day, Harry." She walked out of the room, picking up the chart information outside of the door.
"I can't wait to see the real world again, surprisingly enough," he said with a cheeky laugh as he walked toward the door himself. Raising my eyebrows, I gave him a questioning look. "Harry, I think you might want to put some real clothes on before you leave." In only his joggers and a tank top, he wasn't exactly ready to go. I laughed at his eagerness to go, like an impatient kid's.
"Oh. I suppose you're right about that. I should probably change." He began to rummage through a small duffel that the hospital had given him. "What are we going to do today, love?" he asked while still looking for a decent outfit.
We were doing something together today? My skin tingled at the sound of Harry calling me "love." I don't think I could ever get used to that. "Um...I'm not sure?" I responded shakily. I glanced around the room awkwardly, still feeling a bit self-conscious when answering his questions.
"No worries. I've got something in mind, I think." Harry looked out the window of the hospital room, clearly thinking about this "something" we were going to do. Oh, jeez. "I have to change. Don't look, unless you want to, of course." A wink and a smirk were both sent my way. "Shut up and change Styles. I'll turn around." I turned around slowly, then realizing all too late that there was a mirror hanging on the opposite wall. Harry's shirt was already coming off by the time I noticed. I caught myself staring; a perfect body was being revealed. Toned, lean abdominals and sculpted biceps flexed in the sunlight that poured in from the window. His pants slid off next, his Tommy Hilfiger boxers tight on his thighs.
"You're staring, love. Try to make it more obvious next time." He shot me a quick look, laughing, and he swiftly pulled a pair of trousers on, low on his hips. I could feel myself blushing. It was bad, I knew it, because my face was getting hot. "Woops." I muttered under my breath.
"So...what are we doing today, now?" I asked, changing the subject. Harry pulled a black v-neck from his bag, and slipped it over his head. He walked over to me and turned me around so I faced him. "Listen, Aubrey...about what happened before. I don't think we got off on the right foot, do you?" His large hands wrapped around my waist. His face was considerably close to mine, his breath hot on my cheeks. I wasn't sure why I was getting nervous. "I want to do things the right way. I'm fixing other parts of my life...so why not fix this?" He said, his words confident. "Go on a date with me, Aubrey. A real date." He looked into my eyes, his mouth slightly open, allowing his sweet breath to fill the air between us.
"I, um...I guess that's okay," I said. I couldn't formulate a sentence, not with him this close to me. Especially after I'd seen his body. He was flawless, and I couldn't function. What was happening to me?!
