It all started by chance —— a twist of fate that changed everything.

I never intended to meet him that day, it was purely accidental.

Our eyes locked across the crowded place, and in that moment, time stood still. His eyes were deep, soulful and captivating, his wet hair tousled just so. His smile was like sunshine breaking through clouds —— unforgettable and warm.

I tried to look away, but his gaze held mine. His smile stayed with me,

a precious memory.

Days turned into weeks, and I found myself returning to the place where our eyes first met, hoping to catch another glimpse of him.

He became a bright spot in my days.

In the warmth of July, among fields of golden rice, I saw him once again. My heart raced as I watched him from afar.

His figure,

familiar yet distant,

stirred emotions buried deep

within me.

As if by destiny, our paths crossed again. This time, at my uncle's house, where he stood on the veranda with his cousins and I couldn't help but steal glances at him.

Embarrassment tinged my cheeks as our eyes met once more, exchanging

unspoken words and silent promises.

Amidst the nostalgia of our almost love story, I smiled wistfully, reminiscing about the moments we shared and the love that almost bloomed.

Standing before him now, I couldn't help but feel a pang of longing

—— a bittersweet ache that reminded me of what could have been...

His eyes, windows to his soul,

reflected a mix of emotions ——

pain,

anger,

longing,

and fleeting happiness.

Yet, amidst it all,

I felt only one thing —— pain.
