Aaliyah was having problems because she wanted to make music so bad but her company didn't have anymore time in writing songs and they couldn't find a good lyricists. She came home crying because of that issue and I offered to help her write some songs.
Once I was done I gave it to Aaliyah and she didn't really see the message but she liked the rhymes were ok so she took it in.
"So how is it?" She asked me while I was sitting on the other side of the table.
She had already made her debut with her song but my song but here well basically our song named 'age ain't nothing but a number' I was skeptical about it since the day I heard the title but I just kept quiet. I haven't really got the chance to hear it since I have been busy with work either it's school.'yeah I did homeschooling ' but it's either that I'm busy dealing with record sales, promotions,performances and many other stuff she asked me to listen to it when I had the time but I was booked for the month so I just did it now.
It wasn't my song well it was the same rhythm and kinda the same meaning besides the fact she is literally telling people that age doesn't matter in a relationship which I totally stand against ,I was happy for her but this,this just ain't it.
I looked back pulling on a weird face that kinda screamed."bitch you sure about this"and she just looked back at me and asked me what's wrong "uh well the instrumental and vibe is nice but the lyrics ain't it"I said as she looked at me confused.
"What's wrong now?" She said worried but frustrated.
"Well the song is soothing and nice but really liyah age ain't nothing but a number Really?"
"Well yeah you wrote it"
I stopped her. "Hold up I didn't write that,I wrote "a distraction from love"that was the name of the song I wrote not age ain't nothing but a number ,what even is the meaning of this ?"
She looked at me with wide eyes. "Age ain't nothing but a number it literally says so in the name"
"So basically you telling people that it's ok to date people of any age?"
"Well yeah,it's ok, you have told me countless of times that you like older guys"
"Well yeah but 4 years older is the max older than that is a no,no matter how fine you are."
"And?"
"But you just told the world that it was ok to date anyone in any age,including people who could be 16 or 70 or older than 12 years older than they is,I don't think you know how extreme people Can get Liyah"
She just rolled her eyes and walked to the guest room of my grandma's house that we were in"
I felt kinda disappointed in her and disrespected by what she just did but I just shrugged it off because my grandma was walking in the kitchen anyway.
