"Happy birthday sis" Andre says while walking in my room with a birthday cake in his hands.
"Aww you didn't have to". I say as I sit up ,staring at the cake as it looks guite appetizing..
"I know your not used to this ,but girl you just turned 11,I know it may seem like I'm doing too much but. You finally double digits.
"I've been double digits since like ,11 or 10 months ago.i say as I look at his face with my eyebrow raised.
Andre continues"whatever, so what you gonna do this year's.
"I don't know,prolly gon keep sitting here thinking about what I did wrong."I say as my smile fades.
Andre notices my change of expression and tries to cheer me up.
" I know it may seem as alot , but if you want a better life ,you should let go of all this pain."yes I know the family hates you and all but you got us."
I sigh and look at him."look Andre I know you trying to cheer me in but .....
I get interrupted when my pager starts ringing.
I answer the phone. "Oh hey liyah"I say . "1,2,3, HAPPY BI BIRTHDAY TO YOU" "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR LAILA! "HAPPY BIRTHDAY STUPID M***********
I swing my head in a circle in a reaction of what I just heard. "I guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today."
She responds with."Nah I'm just mad that I almost forgot your birthday"
I Giggle and answer."why you mad,you almost forgot. I literally forgot it as a whole. Not even a single second was I thinking about it.
On the other ear of the phone was Aaliyah. She sighed now knowing that her bestie doesn't care for herself so much even to the point she forgot her own birthday.
Aaliyah said."why don't you come over and spend your birthday with me.
I was still thinking on how I should answer before when I looked over I saw Andre signalling me to say no. "Oh sorry li I already agreed on spending it with my grandma and brother. She understood and just responded with." Ok well bye my mom calling me see ya later. I said my goodbyes to her ,dropped the phone .
I rolled my eyes looking over at my brother.
"Ok now tell me why I said no to liyah,I mean I would have spend my birthday with her bro.
Dre just looked at me and laughed a bit.
"I know how much you like music so I'm taking you to the studio with me."
I was still thinking about what answer to use but I then said. "Naw I'd rather crochet with grandma."
He looked at me with a playfully sad expression and just tried convincing me to go with him.until I agreed .
