Apparently, the man was a puppet sent after the Thorne family, which was Kiera's family. Their background was unknown, but I was just grateful Kiera was still here.
Kiera still kind of hated me, but I didn't mind as long as she was safe and happy. Did I forget to mention? The butler had been hypnotized by some type of magic. It was wrong to do that to such an innocent man. He was my favorite butler, and thankfully he was uninjured.
The world felt bland again. After Kiera's visit, I felt as if she was the only one who could fill the hole in my heart. Sure, it's nice to live in such a grand mansion, but it's lonely if you're the only one in it.
My siblings were normally engulfed in their studies, my father at work. And my mother, well, I didn't even know what she did, but I rarely saw her. As soon as I could walk, I swore I'd train hard enough so that would never happen again.
What if I got kidnapped? I would have no way of protecting myself. But I had a small secret: every afternoon, around tea time, I would sneak out of the garden and go into the forest to "train." If you could even call punching air "training."
Yeah, I know, it's kind of stupid. Actually, really stupid. Now that I think of it, what if you saw a small child in the forest, just less than a year old, in the woods, punching air? Yeah, I don't know either.
Anyway, since I was the heroine, I was supposedly born with higher mana and greater strength than anybody. Hence the name of the game I was playing, "The Heroine is Too Strong!" It was a great game, a funny one at that.
But it would be hard dodging love interests because it was like Eulalia had a whole harem.
Enough talk for now, back to training.
As I was trying to exercise, I heard a rustle in the bush. I whipped my head around and saw a big figure. Oh, no.
The figure emerged from the shadows, towering over me. My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to assess the situation. It was a man, dressed in dark, tattered clothing, with a menacing look in his eyes.
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. "Who are you?" I demanded, my voice surprisingly firm for a small child, yet I stuttered multiple times, and there was obvious fear.
Could I stop encountering bad guys or what?
