Kiera and I were placed in a room after she had a small scuffle with her mom over a biscuit. The sight made me chuckle. "Baa..." Kiera cooed, giggling at me.

She was so adorable.

I reached for her hand and smiled, but she whisked her hand back. Ouch... maybe her villain instincts were already kicking in.

She stuck out her tongue, but it wasn't in a mean way, more of a playful one. I was glad she didn't already hate me.

Suddenly, the door burst open. It wasn't any of our family members. A butler stood there, holding a sharp butter knife. Kiera's eyes widened in horror as if she recognized him.

I crawled towards her as the man inched closer. I screamed as hard as I could, but it came out as a small chirp.

The butler calmly took Kiera by the foot, but I held onto her arm. "Booh!" she yelled. I refused to let go—I could not let her get abducted.

As much as I tried, with a small pull, she slipped from my grasp. I probably seemed like a mosquito to him.

Tears welled up in my eyes. How did this happen so quickly? Before I could accept defeat, my dad rushed into the room. As if he knew this would happen, he swiftly kicked the butler in the groin and took Kiera from him.

My dad was my savior!

With Kiera safely in his arms, he turned to me and gave me a reassuring smile. "You're safe now, Eulalia," he said softly, his voice a balm to my frazzled nerves.

The butler lay on the ground, groaning in pain. My father's presence was commanding, his eyes filled with a protective fury I'd never seen before. He handed Kiera to me and stood tall, his figure imposing.

"How dare you try to harm these children," he thundered at the butler. "You will face the consequences of your actions."

The commotion attracted the rest of the household. My mother and siblings appeared at the door, their faces pale with shock. The other staff members quickly subdued the butler and took him away.

My father knelt beside me, brushing a tear from my cheek. "Eulalia, you were very brave," he said, his voice gentle. "And you, too, Kiera."

Kiera, still trembling, managed a small smile. I hugged her tightly, relieved that she was safe. This was a close call, but it only strengthened my resolve. I would protect Kiera no matter what. Together, we would rewrite our destinies, and no one would ever harm her again.
