Friday, Month of Opal , Sixteen-Seventeen  (1/31/1617)
The tall wolverine stared at the black void, suddenly realizing he was floating as his eyes darted around. He suddenly heard the light sound of two voices, male and female, blending together almost as one, the words ghosting his ears as if the wind. "The spirits chant for you, great prince. Don't be led astray as the ones before you..." before silence fell, and he suddenly began to fall, multiple voices ringing in his ears.
Fang let out a gasp, bolting up in bed as he clenched the sheets as he heard his alarm clock go off, breathing heavily as he felt sweat beading on his forehead. 'Why that dream, why again?' He thought, sighing as he kicked the covers off in frustration. His wolf-fox like secondary ears flicked back and forth, silently registering that he was the first up as usual. He got up and stretched, his tail batting against one of the wooden posts of his bed before he made his way to the bathroom. He stared at his long white hair that gradually fading into gold, sighing in frustration before beginning to run his hands through it, a method that seemed to work far better than a brush or comb. He blinked tiredly, staring at his reflection before flinching away. Idocrases....why did he have to look so much like him? Fang forced back a whimper, shaking his head as he cleared his thoughts. He needed to focus on other things. He stared at his eyes in his reflection, brilliant golden eyes, duller in color than when he had been a kid, the pupil and sclera in his right eye pitch black while, white for his left eye, staring back at him, a constant reminding of the Moonless that he was. From what he knew he was the first to be born in centuries. A powerless wolf who made up for his lack of magic in pure size and brute strength. He silently wondered if he should ask Skylar to braid his hair like usual before deciding against it, silently leaving the bathroom before tiredly walking towards the kitchen. The Evergreen Estate was big, which should be expected. The Evergreens were leaders, the eldest born female(tradition broken by Fang almost five years ago) taking the spot of Platinum Guard, being in charge of the kingdoms army, training cadets, and knighting new guards, organizing patrols, leading large scale attacks, etc. He huffed, tail brushing against the floor as he turned on the stove, ultimately just deciding to make some scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. He opened the fridge, grabbing the eggs and bacon before setting them on the counter, opening up one of the higher cabinets before pulling out a loaf of bread. The eggs first, it would be easier. He grabbed the salt and pepper, a stick of butter, a frying pan, a bowl, a whisk, and a spatula. He cracked the eggs in the bowl, contemplating whether or not to add milk before deciding against it quickly. He was not going to have to tell the school Bluu couldn't come in because of a bad stomach ache. He added abit of salt in pepper in before whisking the eggs absentmindedly, glancing over at the pan before putting the pan of mixed eggs to the side before cutting off a small piece of butter, putting it in the pan before swirling it around in the pan to make sure it was melted before pouring the egg mixture in, leaving it undisturbed for around ten to fifteen seconds before grabbing the spatula, stirring the eggs and repeating the process until they were mostly cooked. He huffed before scraping them out onto the plate he had previously set out, ears twitching as he heard shuffling from one of his siblings rooms...looks like they were waking up. He huffed before starting on the bacon. He silently poured a tablespoon of olive oil into the pan, questioning himself as to why he didn't just use it for the eggs as well. He huffed, letting it heat up before putting the bacon in the pan, waiting for about three minutes before flipping the pieces. After another three minutes it was done and he put it on a plate next to the eggs. Toast was easy enough, he just put it in the toaster and waited for abit before it popped out, somehow not burned after the incident a few weeks ago. He put the toast on a plate before grabbing four plates and glasses out of the cabinet, placing them on the table a before grabbing the silverware. He looked up, watching as a sleepy looking Atlas walked into the room, sitting down at the table as he yawned. "Morning Atlas, did you sleep well?" Fang asked, looking over at his younger brother, forcing back a grimace at the stark difference in their appearances. Fang was rather tall, standing at nine-foot-two while Atlas was five-foot-ten. Fangs hair was white with golden accents, his ears and tail seemingly a mix between that of a fox and wolf. Atlas's hair was a chocolatey brown with natural blue highlights, similar to their fathers, and resembled a wolf more than Fang. These differences had been enough for wolves in the past to question if Fang really was Eliza and Earl Evergreen's first born. Atlas perked up slightly as Skylar, his twin ran into the kitchen, cheering happily as she makes both her and Atlas plates of food before walking over to the table. "Yah I did...would've been better Skylar hadn't been talking about something to her friends again. Thanks for breakfast by the way..." Atlas mumbled as he took a bite of toast, Skylar eating at a much more rapid pace as she spoke with a mouthful of food,"Thanks Fang!" before continuing to eat. Bluu, the second oldest walked into the kitchen, his messy sky blue colored hair, a trait which he inherited from their mother, stuck out everyplace. He sat down, glancing up at Fang as the older male placed a plate of food infront of him before going to make a plate for himself. Fang eventually sat down, eating silently as usual. "Fang! You won't believe who's transferring to our school!" Skylar beamed, her lapis blue eyes shining as she made a bubble of water, accidentally popping it close to a light bulb as her tail wagged excitedly. "Hm?" Fang barely glanced up from his plate, raising a brow at his sister's excitement. Atlas and Bluu looked up aswell, Atlas setting his fork on his plate while Bluu crammed another bite of food in his mouth before swallowing. "Marcos Cortez! Like, apparently he got in on a shit tom of scholarships and almost completely free!" Skylar all but yelled, staring at Fang as her tail wagged happily behind her. Fang froze for a moment, looking at her before getting up, the Platinum Guard like tone slipping into his voice on instinct as he started walking towards his room. "When you're done, Skylar, Bluu, wash the dishes and wipe off the counters, Atlas, put the leftovers in the fridge. Get ready to go and pack whatever leftovers in the fridge you want for lunch." He said quick and almost commandingly before turning and walking down the hallway that had their three rooms, a bathroom, and two guest rooms located there. Fang opened his door and shut it behind him quickly as he got in, tail wagging furiously as he put his hand up to his mouth. Oh Idocrases, what was he going to do...? He looked at his scarred and currently bruised hands, sighing as he shoved his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants. This was the first week back since Christmas break, and chaos was bound to ensue like usual. He partially thankful for the fact that uniforms had been dropped after numbers of complaints from students and parents alike, since they for some reason hadn't been able to handle the powers of some students. He grabbed a pair of grey jeans, a black shirt, and a dark green jacket from his closet, changing quickly as usual before walking towards the bathroom. He grabbed his toothbrush, squeezing some toothpaste on it before brushing his teeth, mind wandering. Would Marcos even recognize him? Well, probably by his height and hair and what not but his scars? That was the main thing. He had scars littering his body, it was like they were everywhere. One of the larger ones was on his face, and the most noticeable in his opinion. A large, three mark scar ran across his face, the results of a bear attack when he had been hunting for him and his siblings when they had still be living in the forest. He was lucky he hadn't gone blind. His ears flicked as he heard movement outside his door, spitting and rinsing his toothbrush silently before walking out. He silently slipped a pair of black tennis shoes on, flicking his tail as one of his siblings banged on the door. He opened the door, raising a brow at Bluu. "So.....can I come in?" Bluu yawned, his hair more tamed as he looked at Fang before slipping past his brother and flopping down on the bed. "What do you need?" Fang muttered, walking over to his desk as he slipped a pair of black fingerless gloves on. "How are you going to handle this? Sila doesn't know about Marcos, actually no one in the school knows about him. They're going to freak out when all of a sudden, the son of a baker, a Quartz at that, hits it off immediately with the richest and most popular guy in school!" Bluu exclaimed, staring at his brother as Fang's gaze flickered towards him. "I already told Sila I had a friend who I might show a lot of affection to, she hopefully understood. There aren't genuine feelings behind our relationship, Bluu. As for the rest of the students, they'll get over it." Fang stated simply, grabbing his bag as he made sure he had all his books. "Now finish getting ready, we leave in fifteen minutes if everyone's ready by then." Fang hummed, walking out of his room, Bluu quickly following after him. "I am ready! And what about Diablo? You know that he's been crushing on you since your first year of high school!" He whined, ears drooping slightly as he grabbed his backpack off the counter and swung it over his shoulder. "Correction, he's been crushing on me ever since I beat a guy up in my first year of high school." Fang huffed, grabbing a sandwich he had made the day before, putting in his bag with a small bag of chips and an apple. "Same thing!" Bluu retorted, tail flicking angrily before crossing his arms as Fang gave him a look that said 'drop it'. Skylar walked into the kitchen, wearing a blue shirt and black skirt as she yawned. Atlas followed behind her, hands shoved in his sweatpants, and for once not having the hood of his jacket over his face. "Are we ready to go? I seriously want to be able to talk to Kila before class starts!" Skylar yipped out, tail wagging slightly before Fang nodded his hand, putting his bag over his shoulder before they walked out of the house, Fang locking the door behind him and following after his siblings. "I seriously hope Alex won't be nagging me again....she's seriously getting in my nerves." Atlas complained, Skylar saying something back that Fang somehow didn't catch as he walked behind his siblings. The walk to school wasn't long, but still something some students mostly used the teleportation rings across the city for. Soon they were in the courtyard, eyes looking over at them as they started walking towards the usual table they sat before school started. The Lapises were making ice and water by the small pond, while the Garnets huddled closely together to feed off of eachother's body heat, a few making small flames for extra warmth. The Quartz were doing their usual thing, floating objects or turning invisible to scare someone. The Amethysts were making small pools of light close to the Garnets for extra warmth while the Diamonds made some shade for the Opals and Obsidians. The Opals were glitching objects around while the Obsidians were attempting to use their mind control abilities on small birds in a tree. The Rosas, as usual were laughing and talking together, putting off the sense of safety and comfort. The Emeralds were attempting to make the foliage abit more lush, the Jadeites helping them by making sure they didn't fall out of a tree or get injured, Tanzanites on call nearby in case one of them did while the Sapphires were huddled together talking about their inventions. Sila, Kila, and Danny, 'the triplet Black Diamonds' as they were called, walked over to the group, Danny starting a conversation up with Atlas, while Kila began conversations with Bluu and Skylar. Sila fell in step next to Fang, her blonde hair tied up in a ponytail. Danny's hair, the same blonde color as his sister's, was cut short while Kila had dyed her hair lavender color, aswell as her tail to match. They eventually sat down at one of the picnic tables, each one their own conversations for abit. Spot and Scylos had joined them after awhile, Scylos glaring at most of the guys and girls who were staring at Spot, who was doing something on his phone. It was to expected unfortunately, Spot was a pureblooded Rosa, born on the Moon, how he survived was a wonder itself and considered exceptionally beautiful in most eyes. Every Moon had their traits, Rosa was beauty. Scylos was a rarity, known as the 'time-wolf', a Sapphire wolf who had been blessed with the ability to bend time with the proper training. "Apparently we're getting an exchange student. He got in on scholarships and something about perfect scores for the past three years, like damn! Maybe we could get him in our group!" Sila said, looking over at Fang who was partially zoned out before Diablo made his way over, sitting next to Atlas. His dark brown hair was cut short like usual, his skin dark with his crimson red eyes scanning over the students. "I heard he's a bakers son, a Quartz kid from one of the lower villages in the south." He added on, glancing over at Fang who still hadn't responded. Then the chatter died down, eyes drifting over to a brown skinned, chocolatey brown hair and tailed boy walking into the gate, his Quartz eyes focusing on the ground. Skylar and Bluu stopped their conversations, looking at Fang instinctively for an order of sorts, it was partially due to natural instincts, and the fact they had become used to asking him for permission for stuff, plus their rankings in what most called their pack. Fang was the alpha male, Sila the alpha female, Bluu the beta, while Danny, Kila, Skylar, Atlas, Diablo, and Spot would be essentially the in between, while Scylos was the omega. Their groups ranks had constructed on their own, and they were considered to be at the top of the school. Fang's head snapped up at the familiar scent, hitting his nose like the wrath of a fury driven Scorpius. His eyes trailed after the boy before he gave a silent nod towards Skylar and Bluu, all the answer they needed before they immediately got up, Atlas following silently, glancing over his shoulder at Fang before following after his siblings. Spot looked over at Fang, tilting his head to the side before he spoke in a soft and low voice, his legs crisscrossed as he sat. "Do you guys know him? The way your head snapped up when he walked in and how Bluu and Skylar went towards him as if he were a pack member kinda has those sor-" Spot quickly shut his mouth, shrinking back slightly at the sudden harsh glare from Fang. The others had a very similar response, as well as the other students. Even Diablo looked scared, the only one unfazed was the exchange student, who gave a small wave at Fang before walking inside the school building. The glare in Fang's eyes melted away instantly, returning the gesture with an ever so sweet smile that confused most as his eyes trailed after the boy. The school day continued as normal, different alphas scoping out the new student in hopes of getting the Quartz into their pack. Fang had been able to catch him and have a conversation with him before any other alphas could, and in the process offered him a seat at his packs table, aswell as a spot in the pack, which Marcos had accepted with a grateful little smile. Then it was lunch...amazing, the crowded cafeteria, loud and bustling as always. He sat silently at the table, Diablo, Sila, and Kila being the only other ones there. "Hey Fang, what were you talking to the new kid about? You looked pretty happy when you were talking with him." Sila hummed, her voice soft, though there was an undertone of aggravation or jealousy. Fang yawned, taking a bite of his sandwich, ears perking up at the slight sound of metal scraping against metal. He glanced over at the other three, who were watching him while Bluu, Atlas, and Skylar sat down. "Eh, nothing much...just offered him a place to sit. The cafeteria is usually pretty crowded, so I just thought to." Fang muttered, noticing the slight frown forming on Sila's face before he internally sighing in frustration. "Wow, never thought I'd see the day where you willing offered someone a place to sit without one of us practically begging you to do it. So, what got your interest?" Diablo said, raising a brow as he set his fork down. "Diablo, it's nothing." Fang huffed, rolling his eyes as his nails tapped against the table absentmindedly. Spot suddenly spoke up, Scylos sitting next to them, Spot's sudden voice caused the other to jump slightly. Seriously though, why do they constantly just pop up?! "Oh please, something's racking that brain of yours! I've never seen you so....distracted!" Spot said, tilting his head before something flashed in his eyes, which shined a slightly brighter pink than usual, a grin suddenly spreading across his face. Before he could get another word out though, most of the group's attention had been diverted to the nervous Quartz standing by their table, Diablo giving a glare while Atlas and Skylar waved, Bluu and Kila stopping their conversations while Spot grinned from ear to ear. Scylos sighed, looking at Spot with slight amusement. Sila narrowed her eyes, staring at him before Fang spoke, trying to seem confident like usual. "Everyone, this is Marcos Cortez, he's a friend of mine." He glanced over at Sila, who gave an annoyed huff before continuing to eat silently. The rest gave friendly grins of small gestures with their hands or tail as a sorta welcome gesture. Marcos just gave a small nod, sitting next to Skylar as he tried to ignore the many stares from different students. Fang was about to say something else before groaning as he grabbed his phone, tensing slightly before getting up and walking out of the cafeteria, muttering to himself as he walked through the empty halls before answering the call. "Sorry sir.....I was busy, what do you need?" He muttered, leaning against the wall close to the stairs. "You need to come in, we have extra cadets, and don't be late. I want you here in fifteen minutes." The voice on the other side snapped, causing Fang to flinch before he responded. "Fine...I'll be there soon." He hung up, silently sending Bluu a quick text saying that 'I have work and that I won't be back for the rest of the day.' He shoved his phone in his pocket before making sure no teachers were around before booking it, stopping at his locker to quickly grab his stuff before dashing out of the school, cursing himself silently before spotting a Sapphire guard on patrol, scowling to himself. He really hated having to use his title to get to places quicker. He walked over, glancing down at the guard who quickly straighten their posture, the other guards nearby doing similar. "Look, I know this is fucking sudden, but could you please teleport me to the castle?" Fang huffed, looking at the guard who tilted their head, ears flopping to the side before nodding slightly, teleporting him to the castle.
