i sighed as i entered the room, to find the lot of them talking they became silent at seeing me
"i figure you will wish an explanation, before i get hammered with questions, ichigo will speak for the squad, is that acceptable" i asked, they looked at each other and nodded
"did you plan to self-destruct the chlorophytum to escape, and if so, how did you know about the klaxosaur" ichigo asked, i chuckled
"of course, you start with the hardest of questions" i said, as i ran my hand through my hair
"i am a time traveler, i sent my memories and the memories of several others including commander hachi back in time" i said
"why not us" ichigo asked
"because there are things about the squad i wanted to change, things that happened in the original timeline, that i can't particularly deal with happening again, the partner shuffle for example, i was fortunate in that the slime klaxosaur attacked before that came up" i said
"why" ichigo asked
"i will keep that to myself, safe to say, i couldn't do it" i said
"so you were the one to be shuffled" ichigo said, i nodded
"correct, a pistil of our squad wanted to try and pilot with me, after seeing my partnership with ikuno not really working, because in that timeline, it wasn't ikuno was killing herself, simply to keep up with my own inadequacy, this time around, i was able to somewhat pull my own weight, well before i left, and reclaimed the dominion, a unit i helped build, and was designed from the ground up to be used by me" i said scratching the back of my head
"what happens in the future for us" ichigo asked
"well, in the short term a lot, the adults will abandon us soon, and in doing so, they free us from the war with the klaxosaurs, in the long term, i will be showing you that soon enough, one of my primary objectives, was saving 02 and the idiot, from getting themselves killed being heroes, i have a fleet of ships doing what they would have had to do" i said, there was a small chime as i pulled out a datapad
"speaking of" i said with a smirk
"what, what happened" ichigo asked, i shook my head, as i hit the combadge
"hanabira to hachi" i said
"this is hachi" hachi responded
"inform the princess, we have kept our side of the bargain, the enemy has been dealt with" i said
"understood" he said, as i cut the channel
"that's that taken care of" i said
"what happens now" ichigo asked
"well, that's what i am here for, the battle with the klaxosaurs will soon be coming to a close, especially since i have 02, they can't set off their planet destroying bomb" i said
"planet destroying bomb" ichigo asked
"gran cravasse, i told you in the very near future the adults abandon us, they leave us to die, if wasn't for the actions of 02, we would all be dead, my actions have made it so she doesn't have to act, she can live with her darling" i said
"thank you" she said
"02, you are family, whatever anyone else here says, i know what you would have done, you are a member of our squad, know matter who or what you are, you will always have me and hiro in your corner, and i can be rather scary with my gundam" i said
"so what happens to us" ichigo asked
"that is entirely up to you, what do you want to do" i asked
"what will you being doing" ichigo asked
"i have one more battle to partake in, one of a more personal nature, and i need to beat some sense into someone, but other then that, i am a soldier, so it is likely i will simply wander looking for battles to fight, i have learned it's what i will always be, it's why i initiated this reset, but i intend to give you all the freedom you have all been missing, hachi and nana will take care of you, properly this time, if you don't want to fight again you won't have to" i said
"and what if we want to help you" ichigo asked, i paused
"i really only see four of you maybe five" i said
"maybe five, there's ten of us" ichigo said
"well naomi doesn't count i don't know her strengths very well, i didn't save her in the last timeline, so she was pruned she eventually rejoined us after the war but i am not sure if she will want to follow her previous self's footsteps" i said
"what did i do" naomi asked
"you were a daughter, caring for ikuno actually" i said, ikuno flinched
"yes, there is good reason that i took the actions i did, even when we shuffled partners you continued to push yourself more then necessary, though i will say, you didn't nearly enter stampede mode, like my new partner did, man was she stubborn" i said
"was it me" ichigo asked
"i will neither confirm nor deny it, i will say it wasn't naomi, and it wasn't 02" i said
"so who are the five, or is naomi part of it" ichigo asked
"she's not, the five are 02, you ichigo, ikuno, kokoro, and maybe goro" i said
"why" ichigo asked, i shook my head
"don't concern yourself over it, it doesn't matter, if you truly wish to join, you'll talk to hachi, every single person on this ship besides you lot are volunteers, the rest are sitting on a different ship, waiting for me to finish up here, before taking them, and you to a good friend who will take care of you, there i will pick up a couple more subordinates of mines" i said
"captain to the bridge" the intercoms called
"if you'll excuse me, it seems i am needed, i will say this, don't just jump onto this bandwagon simply because i am here, you can truly be happy, if you choose to step back" i said
