There was a brief silence before lancel spoke again. "May I ask you something, my lady?"

"of course ser Lancel," Y/n nodded,

Lancel took another deep breath, summoning his courage. He wanted to ask her something that had been on his mind all day, but he was afraid of her reaction. He looked into her eyes, steeling himself. "I... I need to know," he began, his voice faltering slightly. "When we are married... when we are in our bedroom... in bed together... will you be... will you be afraid of me?"

"... I shall be honest ser Lancel, I don't know. I hope I will not be. But I fear the memories may plague me."

Lancel felt a pang of guilt and regret at her words. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt her, even unintentionally. He reached out and took her hand, gently taking it in his own. "I understand," he murmured, his thumb gently rubbing over the back of her hand. "I promise I will be gentle with you, and I will do everything I can to keep you safe and make you feel comfortable. You have my word on that."

"thank you Ser Lancel, I'm sure you will."

Lancel squeezed her hand lightly, hoping to offer a small measure of comfort. He hated the idea of her fearing him, of him reminding her of her trauma. He knew he had to do everything in his power to prove that he was a safe haven for her. "Just... please, if you are ever uncomfortable or afraid during... intimate moments," he said, choosing his words carefully. "Please, let me know."

"I will, I promise." She nodded "I must ask... When it comes to intimacy... Please do not be too rough with me"

Lancel shook his head quickly, eager to ease any worries she had. "Of course, of course. I promise you, I will be gentle with you. I would never intentionally hurt you, especially in... intimate moments." He took a deep breath, knowing that he had to ask his next question, even if it made him extremely uncomfortable "Um... May I ask, when you talk about "being too rough"..." His voice trailed off, his cheeks burning with embarrassment at the question. "...do you mean you don't want me to... touch you in certain places? Or are you talking about something more specific such as... uh... physical force? Or... or perhaps there is something particular you..." Lancel's voice faded away into a breathless whisper. He could hardly believe he was asking such personal questions, but he needed to know what to expect, for her sake and his own sanity.

"Force." She nodded "and... I very much wish not to be restrained. I feel both would only flood my memories"

Lancel felt a rush of relief at her response. The thought of accidentally triggering her trauma in a moment of passion was the last thing he wanted. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, his voice gentle and earnest. "I promise, I won't restrain you, and I definitely won't use any force against you. I would never hurt you, especially not in that way."

"thank you Ser Lancel, that's very kind" she cooed

Lancel smiled, a wave of relief washing over him. He was glad that she wasn't intimidated by him and that she was willing to communicate with him about her fears and boundaries. He knew it would make their marriage, and their intimate moments, much smoother. "You're welcome," he said softly. "I... I just want you to feel comfortable with me. And I want you to know that you can always talk to me about this sort of thing. I'm here to listen."

"I'm sure I will be... In time. Thank you, I'm sure in time I shall share all such things with you even if they pain me to remember. And of course we shall be gentle with you too and your nervousness and inexperience, you are welcome to talk to me about anything you wish even if I admit I am not the most knowledgeable"

Lancel felt a rush of gratitude at her words. It comforted him to know that she understood and accepted his inexperience and awkwardness. He knew that they would have a lot to learn from each other, especially when it came to intimate matters. "I... I appreciate that," he said, his voice soft but sincere. "I may not be the most confident or experienced, but I'm willing to learn and grow with you. If we can trust and be patient with each other, I trust we'll figure it all out together."
