Raven pov
Snacking on a crunchy piece of toast covered generously with chocolate spread. I sit happily in my seat while my family eats in a comfortable silence enjoying eachothers company.
My dad clears his throat, "Raven, we need to speak to you about something." He looks worried, which makes my anxiety skyrocket as I dig my nails into my fluffy pj bottoms under the table. Matteo's hand releases the death grip I had on my legs and squeezes my hand telling me not to worry.
This family has a thing with grabbing my hand and squeezing it huh.
"The academy has offered you a place, but you have to catch up with the work you have missed over the years and yes it will be hard but we believe you can do it." Dad assured me.
I let out a deep breath, they seriously need to tone it down with the dramatics it's starting to make my anxiety freak out.
"When am I going to start?" I hesitated to ask, not even sure if I wanted to go yet.
"On monday." he frowned
"Okay? Why do you look upset?"
I sense an energy of uncertainty in the air making me even more confused. I mean it's just school after all.
"It's a boarding school, I won't be able to see you till christmas break. That's three months away." His frown turns down even more at the thought.
But what jm worried about it how in the ever-living fuck am i going to survive in a boarding school, having to share a dorm room? No thank you.
"You don't have to worry though. Me, Gabe, Felix, will be there. Gio is in his last gear so you won't see him as much with all of his studying and Luciano is a student teacher so he will probably cover a few of your classes." Matteo chirps in with a bright smile.
"So are you sure you want to go, you have barely been able to settle in here but it's 100% okay if you want to go to the academy when your brothers go." my dad quirks a brow as he finishes his coffee cup which piques my interest. I want to try coffee.
"I want to go. I think it will be good for me." I bubbled with a slight smile on my face.
I've been to school before but never an elementary school. The only thing that I have been told about element school is that only the richest of the rich attend and if you're lucky you get to attend with a scholarship but that all depends on your element or shifting skills. But knowing i have fuck all magic that i can access i probably got in on money or relatives.
I have a memory of seeing a student from an element academy in my old estate, it was like a rare animal you never saw an element student near my old estate. In a position at an elite school, being caught anywhere near an estate like my old one you may as well throw yourselves to the wolves.
The only time I saw one was when they dashed down the street in a millisecond obviously using their gift not wanting to be seen in a dump like that.
"Alright then, we already have your uniform bought and adjusted to your size as well as a pair of shoes and a suitcase to bring with you for your stay there." Dad nodded his head slightly in relief that I'm willing to go to the school.

Raven pov
I
've spent the past 3 days perfecting the packing of my suitcase. It was really exciting honestly. Being able to list everything off the list of everything I needed every night to triple check making sure I have every single item I need for the next few months. Dad assured me that if i forget anything just to ring him and he will bring it to me but i don't want to cause anymore trouble for him. He has already given me basically everything I could ever ask for.
