Chapter 11

Raven pov

Thank fuck that its the end of classes for me today. I was exhausted especially after lunch and that whole thing with those boys picking on matteo. They may not try it again on any of my brothers or friends because they will just end up embarrassing themselves more than they already are. I'm not sure if the rest of my brothers know what I did at lunch but in all honesty I don't really care. I did what I had to do to protect my brother and they would do the exact same for me.

I'm dropping all my books back into my locker as I don't have any assignments set today so I have the afternoon to myself and I plan to have a long relaxing bubble bath. Then i will cook dinner for my roommates just so they don't have to spend any money on take away.

Just as I'm about to shut my locker and head to my dorm a familiar voice calls out to me. "Hey raven." I look to see Ryder and a guy slightly shorter than him with curls covering his forehead and tanned skin with deep brown eyes. "Oh hey ryder. Whats up?" I lock the door and turn to him pushing my bag strap into my shoulder.

"I seen what you did back there in the lunchroom. What did you say to the guy that made him so angry?" He was intrigued by my behaviour earlier in the day. I shrug "he was getting in my face for defending my brother and his breath stunk so i told him to take a mint."

He laughs the slightest bit which makes me smile "He deserved it he's always been a dick around here and by the way this is my friend, Louis." His hands are in his pockets so he tilts his head in Louis' direction.

"It's lovely to meet you raven. Im glad theres someone now to put that asshole in his place." He nods his head at me with a slight smirk playing on his lips.

"Well he needed to be humbled sooner or later but I'm exhausted so I'll be heading back to my dorm now but I'll see you guys around. See ya." I wave as I turn around walking to my dorm ready to spend the rest of my night chilling out.

That Louis guy seems really nice and the same with Ryder. I don't understand why Felix and Gabe looked so worried when I was partnered with him. He's pretty harmless, sure he looks intimidating but he's nice.

Third person pov

As raven slowly moves back to her room with no rush at all, just simply daydreaming and enjoying her walk back to her dorm after an exhausting day.

Ravens now out of sight to Ryder and Louis is when Louis first speaks "She's nice, I like her, she's cute too." They both are still facing where raven was once standing. "Yea she is nice." Is all Ryder says before turning away to start heading to his and louis dorm. "I can see why you chose to speak to her." Just as louis spoke those words claudia kagnata steps in their way.

"Hey ryder. What have you been up to today? I missed you all summer." She twirls her blonde hair in between her fingers as she attempts to give Ryder doe eyes but she just looked like a bug. Ryder just simply looks at her with a stoic expression doing nothing but blinking completely uninterested. Louis speaks up for him "how can you miss him if he doesn't speak to you." Claudia pauses her hair twirling and glares at louis.

"Well he's my soul bond of course i'm going to miss him. Isn't that right babe?" She turns back to Ryder directing that last part to him, giving him googly eyes again. Ryder just furrows his eyebrows and curls his fists in his pockets as he feels a low rumble awaken in his chest. His dragon doesn't like being claimed by someone who isn't theirs. Claudia's words just triggered it.

Fucking great ryder thought knowing that now hes going to have to shift after this to let his dragon let out its frustration.

"And do you know that soul bonds go both ways claudia?" Louis teases using a sarcastic tone trying to make her take the hint as he could feel the frustration growing in the atmosphere.

"Well duh. And our soul bond is i can feel it." Claudia huffs crossing her arms and swaying her hip to the side to show the attitude on her. "Hm, I don't think so, sweetheart. I think you're feeling Ryder's dragon's frustration at being claimed by something that isn't wanted." Louis shook his head slightly, pulling his lips into a tight line in disapproval. Claudia gapes at them as Ryder makes the first move to walk away. She starts calling for ryder to come back but as usual he doesn't listen.

"My dragon is slowly starting to get more and more irritated by her. She may knock it off soon or I'm not going to be able to control him." Ryder sighs sitting down on the couch in their dorm rubbing his forehead.

"Do what you need to do and go outside and shift but maybe get raven to get her to leave you alone but that's just a suggestion." Louise advised as he started heating up some milk in the microwave to make hot chocolate.

"Nah, I'm not going to use her just because Claudia wants more power than she already has. Why does she even want anymore?" Ryder goes to grab his bag to set when he shifts back to normal since you have to get butt naked and he would rather not have to walk out feeling a breeze on his asscheeks.

"Because her daddy never says no to her. Goddess if i ever have a daughter and she would go around doing that. Gives me shivers." Louis makes a face with disgust even at the thought of his children doing that. He always wanted to have kids and he wanted to raise them right to assure himself that there is some good in the world.

"I'll be back in an hour or two. My dragon's really pissed and I can't tell if he's going to blowtorch the academy or not." He says as he shuts the door behind him. His dragon was a very simple but confusing creature. It has its moments where it feels like it would flame the world or start flapping its wings and leap around in circles out of joy. He's been more on the first side if things due to Claudia pissing it off.

Raven pov

There is truly nothing better than having a warm bubble bath and being able to devour food after a long day.

I've cooked up chicken fajitas accustomed to whatever the person fancied in theirs. I delivered them to everyone's dorms. Emelia was on her vanity practising her makeup even though it was perfect in my opinion. "Hey, I finished dinner." I walked over, placing the plate on her vanity with a tin of her cherry coke from the fridge with her little metal straw. She thanks me and offers for me to chill in her room but I decline needing to wind down alone after today.

Cole is in his room at his pc playing call of duty which i hear his muffled shouting from rage all the way in my room the odd time. "Here's your food." I say setting the food on his desk with his glass of water and head out letting him be while he thanks me taking a bite of it immediately.

Lastly Jasper is reading a book on his desk looking very concentrated. He flicks his head up slightly startled at the sound of his door opening. "Sorry I scared you, I just wanted to hand you your food." I apologise, smiling as I carefully lay out his food not wanting to spill anything on his books.

"You didn't have to bring it in, you know you could have told me and I would have come and get it. Thank you though I appreciate it." He smiles nodding his head with gratefulness.

"It's no bother, I didn't want to disturb anyone so I thought I may as well just drop them off." I shrug opening the door to let him continue what he was doing. The dorm was completely silent now that everyone was enjoying their food. I'm honestly just grateful I don't have to hear Cole shouting and singing randomly.
