Rosalie's POV:I was practicing at my local rink in a small town in Brooklyn, where I live, with my teammates. We had just finished our practice and coach gave us some extra time to just hang out and skate. I was skating around as fast as I could, flying past my friends with a puck as I was headed towards the goal. As I skated up to the goal I hit the puck in effortlessly. I got it out of the goal and continued to skate around. I did some tricks with the puck before I stopped at the center of the rink, and slapped the puck into the net from there. I went up to the net again and got it before putting the puck and my stick by the bench as I continued to skate around the rink.
I zoned out as I skated around my friends very quickly, until I heard my name called by my coach. "Rosalie, can you come here please?" He asked. I skated up to him and noticed a shorter, grey haired man in a suit standing next to him. "This is Don Tibbles, he's here to speak with you about something very important," coach said with a smile. As he walked away, Don spoke up. "Hello Rosalie, I'm Don Tibbles with Hendrix Hockey Apparel. We want to recruit you to play in Los Angeles with Team USA hockey for the Junior Goodwill Games. How's that sound?" I almost didn't believe it. "Oh my gosh, REALLY? Absolutely! I'll have to ask my parents and make sure it's okay but I would love to play! Can you tell me more about it?" I said. He laughed and reached into his pocket. "Here's my card, call me once you speak to you parents to let me know if you can join. If you are able to join us, you will be sent plane tickets to go to Minnesota in a week to meet you coach and the rest of the team. There are Five other recruits from around the country and you all will be playing with a team called the Ducks. You will stay in Minnesota for two days before you go on another plane ride to Los Angeles, where you will have your first game the day after. Any questions?" "No, I thinks that's okay. I can't wait! Since practice is almost over I'll ask my parent as soon as I can. Thank you so much," I said. "It's my pleasure, I hope you can join us," he said before he walked off.
(Time skip):
I walked into my house to be greeted by my parents. My mom was cooking dinner and my dad was sitting on the couch watching TV. "Hey guys? I have some huge news!" I said. "What is it sweetie?" My mom asked. "A man came up to me a hockey practice earlier. His name is Don Tibbles and he told me and my coach that I was selected to play on Team USA hockey in the Junior Goodwill Games!" I say. They both looked at me shocked. "Oh my! Honey that's amazing! Congratulations!" My dad said. "Thanks, anyway, I need to know if I can go, I'd leave next week and I'll be going on my own, but all the expenses at covered by a sponsor called Hendrix, so you won't have to worry about that," I said. "Alright, I guess it's fine, make sure to call us often," said my mom. "Thank you so much! I'll call him now to let him know!" I said as I ran to the phone. I grabbed the card he gave me earlier from my pocket and dialed the number. It rang for a moment before Mr.Tibbles picked up. "Don Tibbles speaking." "Hello Mr. Tibbles! It's Rosalie, I spoke to you earlier today?" "Oh! Yes, Rosalie, did you speak with your parents?" "Yes I did and I am able to come join you and the team." "That's great to hear, we're glad to have you! I'll send over the plane tickets as soon as possible, the should arrive by tomorrow evening at the latest." "Okay, goodbye!" "Goodbye, see you soon." I hung up the phone and went to my room. I couldn't wait to play national Hockey.
