(Time Skip):Rosalie's POV:
I had my bags packed and ready in the car, as I waited to head to the airport. My mom walked out of the house, locking the door behind her and walked up to the car. As she got in, she spoke up. "You excited to go to Minnesota?" "Absolutely" I said with a laugh. "I'll miss you and dad and my friends, but hopefully I make some friends there." "I hope you do too sweetie." We listened to music on the rest of the way there. Eventually, we got to the airport and my mom walked me in. "Alright, have fun honey, and stay out of trouble. Call me as soon as you can." "Alright Mom, goodbye, I love you." "I love you too, now go before you miss your flight," she said with a smile. I got through security and boarded the plane, which took very long. I didn't have much to do so I decided to take a nap.
When I woke up we were 10 minutes from landing, so I pulled out my Walkman and headphones, and listened to a cassette while I waited. Once the plane landed I gathered my things and walked outside of the airport to be greeted with a short bus that said Hendrix on the side, and Mr. Tibbles standing at the door of it. "Hello Mr. Tibbles!" I said. "Hello Rosalie, go take a seat on the bus, we should be almost ready to leave." "Okay," I said as I grabbed my things and walked onto the bus. I found a seat a few rows back, across from another girl around my age. "Hey, I'm Julie Gaffney, from Bangor Maine, nice to meet you," she says. "I'm Rosalie Sinclair, but my friends call me Rose. I'm from Brooklyn New York, It's nice to meet you too. I'm really excited to play with the team." "So am I," she says. Just then Mr. Tibbles walked onto the bus and took a head count to make sure everyone was on the bus. "Alright, we're all set! We're going to go to the hotel you'll be staying at for a two days before we leave for LA, and then in a hour and a half you'll be back on the bus with your hockey gear to head to the rink to meet the rest of the team. Sound good?" He says. A chorus of yeahs and okays are heard before the bus started to move.
The bus ride was boring, I just looked out the window the whole time until we got to the hotel. I gathered my bags and got off with everyone else. We all walked in and into the lobby, where Mr. Tibbles led us. "Okay kids, you've all been assigned rooms in the same hallway. Here's a clipboard with your room numbers on them, and here's the room keys." As he said this, he put down a clipboard and six keys onto a chair in the lobby. I went up to it and looked for my name, and saw I had room 208, on the second floor. I grabbed my key and my bags once again and made my way to the elevator while everyone else was still trying to find their room key. As the Elevator opened and I stepped in, I heard a voice with a heavy southern accent speak
up. "Uh, hold the elevator please!" They said. I held the door open and in walked one of the boys from the group. "Hey, I'm Dwayne, Dwayne Robertson, from Austin Texas," he said with a smile. "I'm Rosalie Sinclair from Brooklyn New York." I said with a smile. He smiled back at me as the elevator doors opened up to the second floor. I hadn't even realized the doors closed. As I walked out of the elevator, I turned to Dwayne. "What's your room number?" "207, you?" "Mine's 208! I guess we're neighbors," I said as I laughed. "That nice. Say, do ya wanna hang out after practice? We could invite the others an' watch a movie if that's alright?" He said. "That's sounds great, I'll tell Julie. See you later Cowboy," I said. "See ya later city-girl," he said with a smile. As I walked into my room, I couldn't stop thinking about him. His smile felt so welcoming and pure, and he was so kindhearted, I can't wait to see him later. In the room there was a bed, bathroom, a Tv and short bookshelf to hold it, a desk, and a mini fridge on the bookshelf. I put my suitcase down next to my bed, set down my hockey bag next to the bookshelf and unpacked my backpack onto my desk.
After setting up my desk, there was a knock at my door. I opened it and saw Julie standing there. "Hey Julie!" "Hey Rose. You mind if I come in? I'm bored and wanna chat," she said. "Of course you can come in," I said. She walked in and we both sat on my bed. "So, have you heard anything about the other boys here?" I asked. "I talked to one of them. His name is Luis Mendoza. He's the one with short curly black hair." "What's he like?" "He's nice, from Miami so he's complaining about the cold a lot," she said with a laugh. I laughed at this too. "Well we'll be in LA soon so I guess he'll have to deal with it for two days," I said. "Yeah what a nightmare," Julie said sarcastically. "Have you talked to anyone yet?" She asked. "Yeah his name is Dwayne Robertson, he's from Austin. He was the one wearing the cowboy hat." "Oh yeah, he seemed cheerful," she said with a giggle. "Yeah he's excited. He's really sweet and smiley. Oh! And he invited me to watch a movie after practice and told me to tell you and the others. You wanna come?" "Sure! What movie is it?" "He didn't say," I told her. "Well I hope it's good. What do you want to do?" She asked. "We could watch Tv, is that okay?" "Yeah sounds good to me."
We watched Tv until we had to leave. I went with Julie to her room to get her hockey bag, which was two doors down from mine. We took the elevator down to the lobby, and saw that nobody else was there. "Great, we have to wait on them." I said. The first one down was a small boy. "Hey, I'm Ken Wu, but you can call me Kenny," he said. "I'm Julie Gaffney, and this is Rosalie Sinclair, it's nice to meet you," said Julie. "Hi, it's nice to meet you," I said. "It's nice to meet you girls too," he said with a smile. Next down was Dwayne. "Hey Dwayne," I said. "Hey Rose," he said. "Did you talk to anyone else about the movie later?" I ask. "Yeah, I talked to all the boys, they'll come," he said. "Nice. Julie's coming too," I said with a smile. After Dwayne, Luis and another, taller boy came down in the elevator together. "Hey Luis, hey Dean," Dwayne said. "Hey," said Dean. After we all got introduced with each other, Mrs Tibbles walked in. "Alright guys, you ready?" A chorus of yeahs and yes's could be heard from the group. We all walked out with our hockey bags and onto the bus.
