Rosalie's POV:We got to the rink quickly because the hotel was close by. We walked into the locker room and got changed into our gear, with girls on one side and boys on the other. I as was eager to get out on the ice so I changed as quick as I could, and walked out of the locker room as soon as I finished. I walked out onto the ice with my stick and started skating. I zoned out as I skated around quickly, making sharp turns as if avoiding players in a game. After a minute or so, I heard someone call my name. I came to a quick stop and looked around, trying to see who called my name. I turned around fully, and saw Dwayne skating up behind me. "Hey Cowboy, you changed pretty quick," I said. He chuckled. "Well it seems I'm not the only one here who does." With that we were both laughing.
A minute or two later the rest of the players came out of the locker room and onto to ice. We were talking amongst each other until Mr. Tibbles showed up with a group of kids with green jerseys on, The Ducks, and who I'm assuming is our coach. "Tell me about my new kids," he said. "That's Luis Mendoza," Mr. Tibbles said as he pointed to Luis. "He's from our Miami club, real speedster, incredible skater," he states as Luis starts to skate around. Dang, he's really fast, I thought to myself. "I clocked him at 1.9 seconds, blue line to blue line." At this point, Luis is skating around the entire rink insanely fast. I can her a few of the Ducks talking about something, but I can't hear from where I'm standing. All of the sudden I see one of them shove the other one down onto the ice. Just as this happens, Mr. Tibbles speaks up again. "He has just one minor problem." As he says this, Luis goes crashing into the boards. "He has a little trouble stopping." We all skate over quickly to help him up. "Are you okay?" Julie asked. "Need some help?" Said Kenny. "Are you hurt?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm alright. I almost had it that time," he said. A couple of the ducks chuckled at that.
Just then we all skate back over, and Dwayne goes up next. "Yee-haw! How's everyone? Y'all ready to play some puck?" He asks. One of the ducks says, "Hey look it's hopalong Gretzky," and multiple others laugh at this. I shoot them a stern, almost mean glare, which they notice, and quiet down. "That's Dwayne Robertson, from Austin," Mr. Tibbles says. "He's the best puck handler I've ever seen." I look over at Dwayne, and Damn he's not lying, Dwayne's doing all sorts of trick with the puck, all seeming to be extremely difficult to pull off. "You mean for his age," Coach says. "No I don't," Mr. Tibbles said in response. "Hey! This is easier than ropin' hogs! Yee-haw!" Dwayne said as he continued to do tricks. I giggled a bit at his comment, and Julie elbowed me on the arm with a smile on her face. "He does have a tendency to showboat," said Mr. Tibbles. "Yahoo!" Was heard from Dwayne. "Wow," coach said. They then turned to the goal where Julie now stood, as Dwayne came over to where I was.
"There's Julie "the cat" Gaffney," said Mr. Tibbles. "She won the state championship for Maine three years in a row." Wow, go Julie! "Well we have a Goalie, Goldberg," coach says. I don't pay attention to what their goalie was doing, because Dwayne whispered in my ear. "I noticed you liked the comment I made while I was puck handlin'," he said with a chuckle. I blushed when he said that, because I hoped he wouldn't hear. He looked over at my face and chuckled again when he saw I was red. I then turned away from him to where Julie was when I heard Mr. Tibbles say, "Watch this," and point towards her. Just then a couple of players from the ducks each took shots a Julie, and she managed to block them all with ease. Wow she's great, I thought to myself. "Well, we... could use a backup," said coach. What?! A backup? If anyone should be backup it should be Goldberg.
Just then Kenny skated up. "Isn't that the kid from the Olympics? The Figure Skater?" Coach said. Woah, The Olympics?! Wow that's insane! "Yep, Ken Wu. What can I say, I convinced him Hockey had more of a future," said Mr. Tibbles. Kenny was spinning super fast. How is he not sick? "We put a stick in his hands and nobody's been able to touch him."
