"That would have hurt a bit." Alex said.

Ennet stood with disbelief. His heart pounding.

That punch was different.

Ennet made a hypothesis, and it seemed to have been true.

"What if my true ability was being able to store the hits I received." He thought. It was baseless, and he didn't even have evidence to suggest he could release it out, but something in his mind said it was possible. The moment he decided to try it, his body immediately followed through.

The movement felt so natural, but something about the way he used his ability felt off. It was awkward, yet it felt so boundless.

Ennet shook the feeling off and focused on what was on front of him.

Alex stared him down.

"No way he just figured that out on the fly..." He thought.

"So this is what Myne was championing?" He said.

Ennet stayed quiet.

"It would make sense... he somehow minimized the force of my hits, then he suddenly lets out a strong attack. If he was a fighter he could have possibly overpower my ability." He thought.

"But he's not. And there's one major distinction between a fighter and a non fighter."

Ennet blinks, and before his vision could adjust, the distance between him and Alex closed up.

Alex swung a punch from below, aimed at Ennet's stomach.

Ennet's body braces for the hit, and he activates his ability taking much of the force.

Alex could see Ennet recoil from the hit, but he could feel that it didn't do much.

Ennet throws a punch of his own.

Alex pushes it away with one hand and rushes forward head butting Ennet.

Ennet gets thrown back, but that wasn't enough for Alex.

Alex is back on the offense throwing a kick to Ennet's neck.

Ennet quickly reacted to it striking Alex's thigh.

Alex gets thrown back feeling the pain of the hit.

"Shit! Something has definitely changed!"

Ennet doesn't understand whats happening but his body and mind feel so insanely connected. His mind is processing everything his eyes see at such fast speeds everything seemed slower.

Ennet's body burnt. Maybe he was too distracted to notice it, but his temperature was rising high.

Both of them got up and readied another round.

This time Ennet ran forward. He threw a punch with his left arm.

But Alex got even faster.

Alex caught Ennet's arm and swing a kick at his side. Ennet's ability blocked the hit but it still threw off his balance.

Ennet fell to his left, but while Alex was open Ennet threw a kick with his right leg.

Alex got blind spotted. And the hit falls through.

Alex could feel it. It was hurting more and more. What's happening.

Ennet could feel that kick too.

Something inside his body wanted to be released.

The kick sent an echoing feeling through his entire body. A whisper of mana inside of him begging him to release it.

Ennet caught a footing and gets up for another. But Alex is faster and grapples Ennet's head kneeing him at the face.

Ennet reacts blocking it with his ability, but he didn't realize Alex was winding up an elbow to his back.

Ennet fell to the ground on all fours. Alex throws a quick kick to his side, one Ennet also couldn't block.

"These are starting to hurt huh? Don't forget your place dumbass! You're messing with an actual fighter!" He said.

Alex winded up an heel stomp right down to Ennet's head.

"Above" a feeling inside Ennet's head said.

Ennet quickly pushed himself backwards, Alex's kick leaving him open.

Ennet's body burnt. Everything attacking his mind all at once. His body spoke to him in feeling, his mind remembered glimpses of how to fight, the mana in his body was raring to explode, and his body burnt.

Perhaps it was exhaustion, or maybe something else. But Ennet knew his next attack had to be his last.

He lifts his head to face Alex.

It happened again. Ennet hadn't realized how fast his mind moved. Alex could barely even recover from the kick and Ennet was already prepared to attack.

The moment Alex slightly lifted his leg back, Ennet lunged forward targeting Alex's legs.

He had no idea what he was doing, but his body took complete control.

Despite his vulnerability, his body was prepared, his mana was excited, and for some reason, his body began to cool down, every part of his body cooled. Except for his legs.

"What a retarded move!" Alex yelled as he prepared to punch the back of Ennet's head.

Ennet rushed low and fast, he was afraid, but awfully calm.

The moment Alex's fist was at a direct course to Ennet's head.

Ennet suddenly shifted to the left.

It happened in such a quick moment that Alex didn't even know. Ennet himself wouldn't even understand it if he saw himself from afar.

But one sudden shift to the left made Alex miss.

And suddenly Ennet's right leg swung up to meet Alex's face.

Then every build up within Ennet's body was released.

"Firecrackers" She'd call it.

"Explosion." He corrected.
