A Bright pop signalled the arrival of The Terminus; bursting near the dark grey and blood red crystalline planet. 250,000 kms gave the Nevicks a chance to engage stealth systems the moment after they arrived. Their arrival on Atmos Prime would be done in stealth.
The more planet friendly sized Enigma launched with its primary officers aboard. Mia commanded the Terminus and was physically onboard The Enigma as well. It was an important note to remember; each MIA Android system acted like its own faster than light transmission unit.
The large m class planet named Atmos Prime was the location of the Great Civil. A war between Atoma and their Creators; The Laquins. Nearly the entire population of Atomas were 'frozen' in fear, and systematic destruction ensued. A "slaughter" was a better description of the events of this day- now 12000 years ago. Knowledge of this day is propagated by the Atoma race; while the Laquin Fervently deny.
The main city of Praxis seemed vacant. Mixes of empire and Laquin vehicles peppered the mountains all nearby. Some with massive melted burn holes directly through from one side to another.
The Enigma thrusted its way to a safe landing. Amongst the ruins of a nearby downed fighter, it lowered its ramp and spilled the hunters onto yet another planet.
Cred was covered almost instantly in dirt and debris as a strong wind howled against them. Seeing that the boundary of being dirty had been passed; he generalized and wondered about the other things that might bring someone to a desolate planet. "I think we understand now why Atomas live underground on their home planet;" He scoffed and looked around "sure as stink ain't missing much up here." Creds mind echoed in the link. Feeling their laughter he focused at the ground below.
A ragged decimated ruin of an outpost was before him. Large thick titanium walls showed signs of attack. Holes punched through to another side; with relative ease.
Every weld had some kind of damage- Not one panel had been some how drained of its atomic integrity. Upon further examination; Solid matter had almost froze in a hard ash husk state. Liked paper in ash form; very brittle shells remained. Walls could easily crumble upon the slightest touch.
Most of the damage appeared to be outside of the structure; what remained was only a very durable subterranean semi buried staircase. Looking at it- he knew it was hand made.
Cred made the discovery with little argument. "This door's here by design." The staircase not only was hidden, it also seemed to have a "guest list only" policy.
Much like the trap door spider; once the undesirable guest at this doorstep, automatic defensive turrets would deploy. Lethality depended upon the Ai in charge of the Turrets. Sensing the usage of motion sensor devices, Cred alerted them.
"It has to scan us first;" he looked around briefly, "the sensor it's up here or down these stairs. Walking down will take away our advantage-"
Mia turned and looked towards the stairs with a lost emptiness. "Credulen; this place doesn't view you as a threat. You were here recently I guess." She hinted sadly in her voice expressing a very strange emotion. She turned to Cred and said. "The only threat this planet currently is actively scanning for sir;" she said with heartbreak; "is Me."
This planets Main interface or computer core is deep within the structures below. With the defence only looking for versions of Mia; she felt alienated from her mission. As the wave of emotions passed and her artificial mind grew; she looked to the other hunters.
"I won't be able to interface with the core as it views me as the enemy." She smiled now at the irony. Technicality this version of the core was the same as her. It just didn't recognize old code. Mia however saw this Ai that guarded the planet of Atmos Prime; as a son or daughter.
