Uma's Pov

As I stepped into the principal's office, I couldn't help but let out a low whistle. The place was way fancier than I'd expected. I'd been in a lot of principal's offices in my time, but this one was something else. The walls were lined with portraits of past headmasters and headmistresses, each with their own stories frozen in time. They all seemed to be giving me the once-over, as if they were silently judging my suitability for this job.

The room had an air of old-world charm mixed with a touch of magical elegance. The polished wooden floors gleamed, and the large mahogany desk at the center looked like it had seen centuries of academic work. There were intricately woven rugs on the floor and heavy drapes framing the large windows that let in the afternoon sun.

Fairy Godmother, with her ever-present warm smile, was standing in the center of the room. "Welcome, Uma," she said, her tone as gentle as the summer breeze. "I've made us some tea."

Tea? I raised an eyebrow. I was more used to roughing it with a bottle of rum than sipping delicate tea. But, I figured, if I was stepping into a new role, I might as well embrace the whole experience. I had to admit, I was curious about what it was like to sit in the principal's chair, surrounded by so much tradition and grandeur.

"Thanks," I replied, trying to look as if I was used to this kind of luxury. Fairy Godmother gestured toward a plush couch, and I plopped down on it, throwing my boots up on the coffee table without a second thought. The look on Fairy Godmother's face made me stifle a laugh. I could almost hear her internal cringe.

"I've handled my crew since I was sixteen," I said, taking a sip of the tea. "Trust me, a few prep school kids are a piece of cake." The tea was surprisingly good, though I'd never admit that to anyone. I finished it off quickly and set the cup down with a decisive clink. I could see Fairy Godmother's eyes softening slightly as she watched me.

Fairy Godmother nodded, though her smile was a bit strained. She was clearly anxious about the transition. I could understand why. Stepping into a role like this, after years of serving as a guardian of the school, had to be nerve-wracking. I wasn't going to make things any harder for her. I'd handle the responsibility, no matter how daunting it seemed.

"Alright, let's get to it," I said, pushing myself up from the couch. What's first on the agenda? I thought to myself

I called out, "Pirates!" and my crew started filing in, each carrying boxes filled with the remnants of my pirate days. They were a ragtag bunch, loyal to the core, and I knew they'd be a huge help in getting settled into this new role. Their boisterous entrance brought a certain level of familiarity and comfort to the otherwise grandiose setting.

Fairy Godmother watched as one of my pirates hung a black flag with a skull on it over a bookshelf. She looked like she wanted to say something, but instead, she just bit her lip. "Are you sure you want to put that there?" she asked, her voice laced with uncertainty.
