"Prince Damien," a figure called from outside the door.

Groans were heard from underneath a pile of covers. "Yes, Drew?" Damien's voice mumbled, barely awake.

"Your mother would like to speak with you," Drew said.

"Alright, give me a second," Damien replied, stumbling out of bed and heading toward the bathroom.

In the main office, Y/n sat in a chair, splitting a deck of cards with practiced ease. Her concentration was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Nigga, you need some bitches in here," King said, his tall, shadowy form appearing beside her.

"Shut yo lame ass up, King," Y/n said, glancing at him with a smirk.

"I'm just sayin', brother, don't hate," King replied, throwing his hands up in mock surrender.

Before Y/n could respond, the door slammed open. Damien, already dressed and eager, burst into the room. "Watchu want, ma?" he asked, plopping down into a chair and tossing his feet onto her desk.

"Respect me, nigga or you gon  be down there with the rest of them ghosts," Y/n joked, making King let out a dramatic sigh.

"How rude. I prefer 'phantom,'" King said, adjusting his spectral form.

Y/n rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to Damien. "On a real note, you got invited to Auradon Prep," she said, noticing the excitement spreading across Damien's face.

"For real?" Damien asked, barely containing his enthusiasm.

Y/n nodded. "When do we leave?"

"Today," she said, causing Damien to leap out of his chair in excitement. "Hold on, D. I got something for you," Y/n added, snapping her fingers to make a necklace materialize from thin air. "As Prince of the Underworld, you need to be connected to the phantoms," she said, walking over to Damien and placing the necklace around his neck.

"This will allow them to aid you whenever you need them," she explained, whispering into the necklace to make it glow. "No pain, no gain, right?"

Before Damien could question her Damien's body started to tremble as he clutched his chest, feeling an intense pain that nearly brought him to his knees. The air around him crackled with energy, and he gasped, struggling to understand what was happening. His vision blurred as a bright light engulfed him, making it hard to breathe.

Through the haze of pain, Damien noticed something strange happening to his arm. His skin was shifting, the light seeping into his flesh and spreading up his forearm, forming intricate, dark patterns. The pain intensified, like fire burning beneath his skin, and he could do nothing but watch as the light sculpted his arm.
