The Cost of Living

The cost of living.
No I'm not talking about the material factor
I'm talking about sacrifices and how to be an actor
Putting on a fake mask to hide ur true feelings
Because to other people happiness, is quite appealing
Living isn't only surviving it's ur feelings and experiences
But just living in general
What an experience that is
Your life can feel like such a roller coaster
From the successful to the overdosers
As a young kid in a big world
Such a challenge for a little girl
Being powerless and having ur voice stripped away from u only because of ur age
Being told "it's just a phase" or "a passing stage"
And then parents wonder why their kids don't engage
Because talking to u makes us feel enraged
Let's go into a kid's social life
Friends and relationships full of strife
Betrayal can cut deep like a knife
The only healing is to respond back in spite
And next thing you know this erupts into something much more serious
Parents wonder why their children r being so mysterious
They might think they r just delirious
A child might sacrifice their good friend for a bad group of people
Those people could be doing things illegal
Then when they finally get caught
Their parents r quite distraught
Because their child life was much deeper than they thought
And after the kids r saved and get the attention they so dearly craved
They start to act normal and behave
B ur then parents cannot thinking how they couldn't see the signs for help
Just because it wasn't a call or yelp
Do u honestly think you know the people around u?
Guess what?
You haven't got a clue
You have no idea what's false and what's true
So just ask them "how are you" because that helps too
They might feel like they need space
They might have a past of disgrace that they want to erase
Maybe they just need a kind embrace
So check on them just incase
So, do you truly know them?
