TW: Blood, gore

(A/N: Don't mind the video too much, I mostly try to find images relevant to the chapter but it's becoming harder as my story veers away from the show.)

Marinette

~~~
No no no. Felix can't die. He's Felix-- it must be a distraction or a plan or something, right?
"It's okay, you're going to be okay." Even Marinette didn't believe herself.
Her hands were shaking, she was covered in his blood. She looked around frantically for something--anything that could save him.
She couldn't lose him, she wouldn't lose him. The chessboard lit up in her vision-- the lucky charm. The miraculous Ladybugs could fix this... hopefully. She quickly rushed over and grabbed the chessboard. She pulled Felix against her-- he was delirious but still conscious.
"Felix please, come on... this is the only way to save you." She took his hand and placed it on the chessboard.
He wasn't speaking, barely breathing. Her mind raced as panic filled her lungs, "Miraculous ladybug-- miraculous ladybug!" She screamed the words over and over, desperate to save him.
Only the person with the miraculous could activate its power. Her eyes widened.
Marinette carefully removed one of the earrings, "You're going to be okay if it's the last thing I ever do." She promised as she put in the earring.
His costume was starting to fade on one side, his blood staining his clothing beneath. A mask started to cover half of her face. She took his hand and placed it on the chessboard. If this didn't work... Hawkmoth might not be the only thing she needs to worry about...
"Miraculous Ladybug." She said the words as more of a command rather than her usual joyous declaration.
The board began to glow and shake. Her eyes widened as she watched it tremble beneath their joined hands. The chessboard burst into thousands of glowing ladybugs. The sight was truly miraculous. The magical ladybugs fluttered around Marinette and Felix, some ladybugs leaving to repair the damage caused by Empress Justice.
Marinette held him close, watching as the magic focused on Felix's injuries. The blood from his clothing and hers disappeared. She blinked in surprise as the magic faded-- but Felix wasn't yet awake.
She shook him, "Felix? Please, Felix, wake up... I-I can't lose you..." Her voice trembled.
Felix's groaned a bit and Marinette nearly laughed with pure joy and relief. She hugged him tightly.
Felix huffed and coughed a bit, a smile tugging at his lips, "I've hardly been gone a minute and here you are crying over me." His arms wrap around her waist, one of his hands rubbing her back in soothing circles.
She didn't respond-- words weren't nearly enough anyway. Her lips met his in a kiss full of passion, relief, and affection. His eyes widened in surprise but he responded immediately, pulling her in closer and cupping her cheek. Her hands threaded through his hair as if every touch wasn't enough.
This was her silent vow to never waste a moment with the ones she loved.
"Don't ever scare me like that again!" She huffed at him as they broke the kiss.
Felix was a bit dazed and slightly flushed. She had never seen him so caught off-guard and it made her smile.
Felix chuckled, "No promises, little bug." His hand lifted to touch the earring she was wearing.
