GXB : A Babysitter's Agenda

Being a newbie in this neighborhood is hard for me considering that I don't like to socialize that much. And ever since I moved here, my parents has been nagging me about being friendly to my neighbors and to get their trusts.

I swear, I am working on it but being such an introvert is my number 1 struggle. However, I have this neighbor who lives across the street who I am really attracted to.

Yes, he's married and have a kid but I think a simple crush isn't harmless. Besides, he's also 10 years older than me so I don't know about that. I am 26 and he's 36.

I developed this little crush on him after he helped me fix the clog on my sink. Since then, I can say that we became pretty close.

We would greet each other every morning since we both like to be out, he usually mows their lawn while I usually drink my coffee on my front porch while reading a book.

I thought that he was a single dad at first since I never really see his wife around but he said that he's the househusband and his wife is always busy at work.

Because of that, I kinda felt sad for him and decided to give him a few words of comfort.

He actually told me that he's been planning to get back to work once their baby turned 3 so it would be less hassle to leave the kid with his grandparents.

Upon hearing that, a thought came to me. His baby still have more than half a year before turning 3 which means he'll have to wait longer and while talking about his past work, I saw how much he loved that work so I offered to babysit for their kid.

Hindi naman yon araw-araw, he said he'll only be working 3-4 times a week from 10 AM to 6 PM.

And since I've been looking for a part time job now while waiting for the callbacks of the companies I applied a job for, this would be a great opportunity for me and for my wallet as well.

He was so happy to hear that from me and immediately consulted his wife which seems to be okay with it. And just like that, I landed a small job right across my house while the man I have a little crush on can happily go back on his job.

On my first day on the job, I'm still a little bit lost. Good thing the kid doesn't have any temper. Mabait ang bata, masiyahin, at hindi nagtatantrums.

After working for more than two weeks ay kuha ko na ang lahat. I already have a routine to follow at magaan lang ang trabaho.

Until one day, while I was busy making food for myself after putting the baby to his nap. I heard a loud banging on the front door.

Natakot pa ako noong una pero ng makita kong si Richard lang yon-ang ama ng bata at ang amo ko-ay agad ko rin siyang pinagbuksan ng pinto.

To my surpise, he's extremely drunk, a mess, and is reeking the smell of alcohol. Nang buksan ko ang pinto ay mabilis siyang natumba sa akin.

"Richard, are you okay?" Tinapik tapik ko siya.

"Oh, hello Isabelle." Bati niya ngunit halatang wala siya sa wisyo.

"You are drunk. What happened?"

"I caught my wife cheating on me. Can you believe? They are fucking making out on her office!" I can hear the anger in his voice.

I didn't know what to say. I'm definitely not good at giving advice and I don't want to accidentally say something bad or something that would make his situation worse.
