I woke up to my mouth watering and my stomach churning. I immediately jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I felt someone hold my hair for me. Even though this had been happening for a few weeks now I didn't think anything of it. "Darling, I think we should go see a doctor. This has been happening for weeks." Obanai said softly rubbing my back. "Ok, let's get ready so we can get there early." I told him.
We got ready and made our way to the town we live in. Obanai held my hand in concern. We entered and bowed. "Hi! do you have an appointment?" The receptionist asked. "No, we dont." I told her. "Ok, what are you here for?" She asked grabbing paper and a brush. "Ive been throwing up for a while now and I just have been too busy to get checked out." I told her. "Ok well I'll hand this to the doctor which he isn't too busy right now you know." She smiled.
It felt almost immediate as the doctor came in. We walked back and he asked me some questions. "You're her husband I assume?" He asked Obanai. "Yes thats correct." Obanai told him. He nodded and turned back to me. "Well You're pregnant. At least 2 months close to 3. Soon you'll start to see the bump. So make sure to rest a lot especially later on. Also you'll need to come for monthly checkups." He told me as my hands covered my mouth. I looked to Obanai and he looked just as shocked. We left soon after. "Obanai.." I asked him. "Yes, my love." He answered. "Are you mad?" I asked. "Of course not Jihyun. Why would you think that?" He asked me. "Are we able to have a baby? Will it get in the way of your job?" I asked worried. We entered our house. Obanai grabbed my hands and looked at me.
"Jihyun I have loved you since we got together. I loved you when you were Jang Jhiyun and I still love you. I'm so happy that I get to be a father and that you're the one having my baby, our baby and im going to be the best father ever!" He kissed me. I hugged him and cried into his shoulder. "We should tell Eomma and Appa." I told him. "We will." He hugged me closer. "Well we should start walking before it gets dark." I told him. "You cant walk that far. I'll just send a letter to your family that we need to talk and that they need to come over. It's better not to exhaust yourself." He snuggled me. "It's fine Obanai. My parent's house is only an hour away." I told him. "But it'll be harder because of the baby." He told me.
"I'll start cooking and do extra cleaning now." He told me. "Oh you don't have to!" I told him. "But I will." He insisted. I giggled snuggling into him. I felt my eyes get heavier.
OBANAI POV
I felt my side get heavier as Jihyun feel asleep. I smiled and kissed her forehead. I carefully layed her head on my lap. My crow was sitting on the ledge of our window. "Will you get me paper and ink." I told the crow as Kaburamaru slithered down and cuddled up with Jihyun. I stroked her hair as she snored a little. I grabbed the brush and paper. "Hello Eomma, Appa. Me and Jihyun have something you tell you all. Please come to our house by the afternoon." I waited for it to dry and folded and wrapped it. I made more for my brother and sisters in law. "Bring these to Mrs. and Mr.Jang. Then bring these to Hyojin, Minho and Heewon." I told my crow tying the letters on the other foot.
My crow nodded and flew off. I carefully picked Jihyun up and set her in our bed. I got ready for my mission and wrote a note to her. I set it bedside the bed and kissed her forehead.
THE NEXT MORNING🦢
I woke up to Obanai hugging my side his hair slightly damp. 'His hairs damp. Did he have a mission last night?' I thought as he woke up. "Good morning." He smiled at me. "Good morning Oba." I smiled at him. "And good morning to you too little one." He kissed my stomach. "I'll make breakfast this morning." Obanai said as he got up. "No it's fine! I can still cook im only 2 months." I told him getting up. He sighed in defeat as I got up and got dressed.
"Master wanted me to bring you to meet him at the next meeting but it'll be in a few months." Obanai told me slicing vegetables. "When will it be?" I asked him. "Middle of November." He replied looking over to me. "I'll be... 6 months." I shook my head. "6 months...When is the baby due?" He asked me putting the vegetables in the pan. "I think in February ." I told him wondering. "I dont really know. If it's the end of August and im 3 months it should be in...February ." I told him confidently.
"When can you tell the gender of the baby?" He asked me as I mixed the vegetables with rice. "4 1/2 months maybe. Earliest would be 14 weeks latest probably 20." I told him as he looked at me. "We'll know in about 5 months." I clarified. "Oh." He replied "what will we name them?" He asked me. "I dont know. What would you like?" I asked him. "Anything you want." He smiled as I turned the stove off. "If our baby's a girl how about Nari or Jina, and if they're a boy how about Eunwoo or Nuri." I suggested. "Those are nice." He smiled and grabbed plates. "Ahh! I cant wait to meet our baby!" I cheered.
"What about masters invitation?" I asked suddenly remembering. "We can visit once pir child is born. I'll write him a letter." Obanai said. "Oh but that seems rude." I sighed. "It's okay, Im sure he'll understand." Obanai reassured me. "Oh! after dinner I need to schedule another appointment for September!" I reminded him sitting down. "I can go before my mission tonight." He offered. "Okay, well eat." I told him as we prayed. After dinner we got into the bath where he helped me wash my hair.
Now we're laying in bed asleep.
