Dangerous
If there was one word Blaise Zabini would use to describe Seraphina Black it would be that. She was pretty, she laughed easily and despite her easy going nature Blaise couldn't help but feel an undercurrent of danger. He had been curious about her since the moment he saw her because the golden child of the light family carried a glint in her eyes that reminded her a bit of his mom, the Donna of the Italian mob.
He had been a bit disappointed when the girl didn't even try to actively find court members and Draco Malfoy had quickly seized power. He had dismissed her than thinking that maybe it was just him but then things had started to slowly change. He hadn't thought that he would see the day when the uptight heiress of the Greengrass Clan would become friends that quickly with a half-blood Slytherin but she had. At first Blaise had assumed it was for political reason because half-blood or not Heiress Black was the girl-who-lived but then their little friendship group extended to include a muggleborn Gryffindor and Blaise couldn't help but be insanely curious about the odd group of friends.
That admiration had only increased when he had seen her jump in to save one of her own because Zabini's may control the Italian underworld but they respected loyalty above all else. Though everyone didn't seem to share the same opinion because the house was divided and Seraphina and her friend an outcast. He didn't think the cheerful Black had noticed, but sometimes he had an odd feeling of being scrutinized by a snake. He had voiced it but Malfoy had barely taken any heed to his warning.
The tension had boiled over when she had quickly won over the position of seeker. A position many were vying for and it had made up Malfoy's mind to confront the girl. The entire situation hadn't sat right but Draco was confident and taken charge. So Blaise did what he thought was best he withdrew both himself and Theo from Malfoy's court and it had been a good thing, a very good thing that he had done so because Seraphina Black because she was in no way a Potter had been terrifying. She had made quick work for Malfoy and his goon all the while keeping the same smile on her face that she used to greet others every day.
Prey that was what Malfoy was to her and Seraphina Black was a beautiful hunter.
He had asked for an alliance and got friendship in turn. The tiny auburn haired girl had been the one to secure their safety when Dumbledore has sent them to dungeons where the troll had been and in their panic none of them had been any wiser, so yes Seraphina Black was a friend. He wondered if this friendship would still stand if he told her he wasn't exactly human. He didn't want it to because Seraphin-Sera was someone who was someone who got him. She got his dark humour and didn't bat an eye lash when he had admitted in a roundabout way what his family actually did. It had been a refreshing change, one that he very eagerly welcomed.
The Quidditch season began with a bang. As they entered November, the weather turned very cold. The mountains around the school became icy gray and the lake like chilled steel. Every morning the ground was covered in frost. Hagrid could be seen from the upstairs windows defrosting broomsticks on the Quidditch field, bundled up in a long moleskin overcoat, rabbit fur gloves, and enormous beaverskin boots.
