CHAPTER TWENTY NINE: Confrontation

— KIM TAERAE

"Are you still not going to talk to me?" Taerae asked from outside Yunmi's bedroom door, continuously knocking every few seconds. "Yunmi?"

He sighed and turned to Yujin, shaking his head to indicate that she still hasn't said anything. "Yunmi, you need to at least eat something." His voice sounded like he was either going to give up or cry.

"You don't even need to tell us what happened I just want to make sure you're alive." Yujin added, knocking again. There was yet again another absent response from Yunmi, leaving the two hopeless and exhausted. It had been maybe a few days since the incident and she hadn't left her room at all, causing a whole wave of worry about her state.

No one knew exactly what happened since as soon as she was saved, she refused to speak to anyone and stayed stuck in her room. Coincidentally, it was the exact same situation as it was when the news of Yejun's death came out.

A worried maid went up the boys, hands behind her back as if she knew she was going to get a bad response. "We decided to check where we hid her stashes, all the drugs are still there but almost all of the alcohol in our kitchen is gone."

"Oh for fuck's sake." Yujin cupped his face with his hands in frustration. "I don't even know where my parents hid her room key, and I haven't seen them for over a month."

The maid sighed and turned to walk away until Taerae stopped her. "Do you know anyone who will know where her room key would be?" He pleaded to the woman with tired eyes. "If something bad happens to her we're all responsible."

She stopped to think and after a while, she acted as if a lightbulb appeared on top of her head. "Oh, wait!" She glanced at Yujin. "That Gyuvin guy, he would know. He's done it before, don't you remember Yujin?"

Yujin frowned and looked down once Taerae looked at him eagerly. "Uhhh...." He bit his lip to concentrate and started to walk back and forth in the hallway. "Gyuvin knows where the key is or?"

She nodded. "Yujin, you were there. It was after the summer house was finished and he came to visit to apologise... well he knew where the key was but he had a fight with Yejun that day too so—"

"Huh?" Taerae lifted his head. "Okay, nevermind. We need to get Gyuvin but you seriously need to tell me what happened during that fight, if you know of course."

"Of course I know, I was the one who stopped them." She crossed her arms before turning her back. "Now contact him, the staff need to search the house more just in case. Just make sure she's okay."

Hyeri was called for 'something important and secret' from Gyuvin and as much as she didn't want to, she did get a text from Gunwook telling her to listen to him. She slowly opened the door and was met with a surprise. "Okay what the fuck?" She tilted her head once she walked into Gyuvin's room. "Why are these nutcases here?"

Gyuvin scoffed. "Lock the door Hyeri. My parents and Hanbin are out for more investigation shit, so we have to make this quick." She didn't react and immediately locked the door before immediately walking over to Gunwook, the two sharing a kiss before she sat down beside him.
