ANTHONY
⛧°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °⛧
"Anthony!" My mom's voice roared through our apartment. "For God's sake wake up!

I groan in frustration as I try to open my eyes and check the time but then realize I don't have my glasses on. I get up, sit up on my bed leaning my back on the headboard, grab them from the bedside table, and put them on. I blink a few times to get used to them and look around

When did I fall asleep?

I glance down at the papers and books on my bed- Shoot! I have midterms today-

"Anthony!" This time it was my dad and that's another warning. I sigh and slip off from my bed. "Yes! Yes! I am awake" I shout back so they don't call me again. I check the time and it's six in the morning, just enough time to get ready and do a little packing but then I look at the mess on my bed, better clean that up.

I hastily grab all the textbooks, assignments, and notebooks and dump them in my backpack. My desk is empty and so is my bookshelf, I just need to clear my closet and I am done. I head outside my room, trying to find empty spaces to step on because of all the boxes in the way.
"I still can't believe, we're moving when I have exams.." I mumble under my breath.

"Never wanted to in the first place." I go on. "What was that?" My dad asks with a look that tells me he heard exactly what I said and is just daring me to say it again.

"Nothing," I say and shrug my shoulders as I make my way to the kitchen. Boxes are scattered over the countertops as my mom piles more and more "Are you-" she begins but pauses mid-sentence when she looks at me. "Where's your uniform? Why aren't you ready yet?" She gives me a stern glare.

"It's only six I have a lot of time, in fact, my alarm rings at only six fifteen you didn't have to wake me up," I tell her as she tapes up the boxes.
"This isn't the first day of school for you, Anthony you know well that you're supposed to be ready by-"
She starts but then I heard this conversation enough times to say it along with her. "six fifteen, have breakfast at six twenty and go to the bus stop by six -thirty to catch the bus." Both our voices sync.
"Well then go on," she makes a gesture with her hand to say go away.
I heave a sigh and go back to my bedroom, stumbling on the way as someone grabs my arm, and the next thing I know my head is in between my older brother's arm and elbow, my hair getting ruffled by his hand. "What's up, lil bro?"

"Dude, I'm eighteen and you're twenty can't we grow up a little" I tell him as I laugh.

"No," he says with a grin and lets me go as I adjust my glasses which nearly fell in when he grabbed me.
"Anthony! What did I tell you?" My mom's voice sounded again and Sebastian goes running off before I tell on him.

I am going to miss this. The bustling streets of Manhattan, the cars swishing past as I walk on the sidewalk passing by many people, the buildings making their way to the sky. Today's the last day here, I've been here since I was born and I'm not ready to leave yet. We're going to California because Sebastian is going to university there. my parents thought that we should all go and just as he got into university, Mom got a job there and the next thing I know there are boxes all over the house. I don't know how we'll be moving all this stuff to the other end of this country but I know it's not going to be easy.
