"Hey, Anthony," James calls out in the hallway from behind me, and I turn around with a confused look. We did not have the same class, so I did not know why he was calling me, but all he did was gesture with his hands to come. I walk towards him and ask, a bit annoyed, "What?"

"I need you to do me a favor." He whispers and that just adds up more questions in my head. Why was he whispering? but he doesn't stop "Can I trust you?" he asks me. I heave a sigh and adjust my glasses "Just tell me what's going on, James.." I tell him. He seems hesitant and unsure from the way he's cracking his knuckles with his hands. I am starting to get a bit concerned.

"Look, if anything happens to me tonight," James says "Just make sure to get, Sof, home by.." He begins thinking "Midnight or 1 AM, max." I widen my eyes at the little condition I hadn't even agreed to. "What?" I ask as if I didn't hear him the first time. "The party, remember?" he reminds me which I have completely forgotten about. "Dude! No, I can't babysit your sister!" I whisper-yell at him. "You're not babysitting her, you're just going to drop her off at my home if anything happens to me." He points at himself as he speaks. "What possibly is going to happen to you?" I ask him back.

Either I am going crazy or he just blushed. "I'm just making sure everything goes smoothly." He tries not to stammer. "I've told Cameron too, but knowing him he's going to forget about it the moment we arrived." He changes the topic. I was about to ask again what would happen to him but decide against it. Whatever it is, he can keep to himself I don't want to know.

"I'll mostly be there but- just in case," he looks me in the eyes and I slowly nod my head processing the thought. "I-" I began to argue but changed my mind. He said he'll mostly be there so he's just informing me just in case anything goes wrong. He just wants to be safe right?

The night of the party, I wanted to stay home so bad. I told my Mom about it and she was okay with it. She just told me not to get drunk which is very easy for me. At this point, I'm questioning whether or not I have social anxiety.

I am being dramatic, I'm fine.

"Hey!" I heard Cameron yell from the open window in the car as I step outside the door. Part of me wanted to run back inside my house, change my outfit, lay on my bed, and read, but I couldn't because what would I tell my future children if they asked me,  "Hey, Dad were you popular in high school?" Or "Did you have a love life in high school?" And since the answer to both of those questions is no. The least I have to offer is that I went to 2 high school parties. So, this is for you, my future children.

I walked towards the car, and yes, it was the same black SUV. I open the back door, and to my surprise, it is the three girls from earlier sitting there talking. From the looks of it, even if the world around them was burning to the ground, nothing would have stopped them from talking. I clear my throat, and they all turn their heads at me. "Oh, you're here," Kayla says, which suddenly makes me feel so insecure. "Hey, Sof, Could you let him sit in the back?" James tells her from the front. Sofia rolls her eyes as if it wasn't her job to do this but huffs and gets down from the car to retract the seat so I could sit in the back. She found the button and pulled the seat but it wouldn't budge. I heard her grunt. "Uhm, James-" She calls to him. "I can't-"
