Luna gawked at the huge screens in the main theater, which was showcasing all the main actors with a fiery background.
"Woah... everything is huge!" she squeaked (as quietly as she could).
Akane heard her and giggled. She turned around and dipped her sunglasses down. "Just wait, you'll see soon."
✶
Oh, Luna did see.
The play was absolutely striking, and it was fully immersive as well. There wasn't a moment of time where she could sit still well enough.
(Also, she kinda thought Smash Heaven made ping pong look like the end of the world is coming, but she was here for it—)
After it was over, the three of them bought some drinks from the nearby cafe, a fizzing drink with cubes of colored jelly inside.
"So, how was it?" Akane asked as they settled in.
"Well, to be honest... it was 50 times more entertaining than I thought it'd be," Aqua admitted, looking down at his drink.
"Right?!" Akane and Luna exclaimed together happily.
"First off, I was surprised the curtains were monitors. That makes it so film direction can be used extensively in the play," Aqua observed, twisting his drink around in his hand.
"Yes, special effects!" Luna added. "Also, the seats were rotating, right? That's why it's called a Stage Around. It allows for scenes to be prepared beforehand and makes things run a lot smoother!"
"Yeah! They've used a physical approach to solve the structural limitations of theater," Akane agreed.
"Miraculously, I was able to enjoy the actors' performance because the staging impressed me," Aqua said. "The story was also pretty good. Honestly, it was great. No, it was superb."
