"Feel you deep in my bones, you're the current"
Standing at the entrance to the boys dormitories I suddenly realise this perhaps wasn't my greatest idea. My emotions last night may still be clouding my judgement, Godric knows they certainly did last night. It's the reason I'm here, waiting for George Weasley.
I'm debating leaving but a familiar flash of red stops me. Since I'm already here I might as well finish this. "Oi, Weasley," I barely whisper. But enough to capture his attention at least.
Admittedly he looks shocked but I would have too, embarrassingly aware of my social status. Yet, he still follows after me as I lead us to a secluded part of the common room. That's when I rounded on him.
"George Weasley-"
"Woah love, calm it, I'm Fred thank you. But tell me what it is you're needing with my brother dearest," Fred grins back at me.
My signature blush returns in full force and I am simply unable to come up with an excuse. I rack my brain but "I'm Fred" is playing on a loop.
"I'm Fred"
"I'm Fred"
"I'm Fred"
The loop stops. In front of me stands two of them, either my inability to speak to guys has finally driven me insane or-
"Georgie, man of the hour." He gives his brother a pat on the back whilst turning away. "Good luck with this one mate."
Finally I feel myself coming back down to earth, looking to the real George who gives a small sigh , shaking his head.
"Hollows, I'm wounded. My own brother, wow," He gives another sigh, an overdramatic one I'd say.
"Too bad. Listen, what in Godric's name were we thinking!? This is absolutely not happening." My hushed whispers rise in volume with each syllable.
Seeing this, he grips my arm with enough force to practically pull me after him. Leaving the common room. Exiting through the Fat Lady portrait, up countless flights of stairs and only letting me go once I recognise the spiral staircase leading to the Astronomy Tower. This is beginning to feel near identical to last night.
"Now, before you run away, here we won't be overheard because as I recall this whole deal was a secret," he states in a rush in case I did decide to make a run for it, but I won't. I have some very strong opinions he needs to hear.
"There is no deal." I fold my arms across my chest to emphasise my point.
"Um, yes there is. Last night and I quote 'Deal, I, Flora Hollows, promise to get us to our goals whilst being the best fake girlfriend ever'" his anxious grin turns smug. I can't help but want to smack it off his smug little face.
"Just- how can you remember that?" I admit his perfect recollection of things wasn't going to help my case.
He shrugged his shoulders, keeping that same smug expression on his face, "For situations like these."
No doubt he and his brother had accumulated many of these types of situations over the years. Notorious duo, Merlin I should have known.
"Weasley, last night I was hurting and not thinking straight. Frankly I wouldn't say you were either because this plan, whatever it is, is nonsensical and we're-I'm smarter than that," I make direct eye contact for my attempt at intimidation and I win. His eyes shift to the floor, my face, the floor.
"I am somewhat hurt that you question my smarts, top of my charms class actually..." the rest of that thought died on his tongue as my expression did not change. I suppose he decided to change tactics, "Last night, I was upset too. But I wouldn't have suggested it if I didn't think it would work. You and I both have something to gain and I fully believe we will succeed."
