- Chapter 51: (The Lost Tally)

- Haeun's POV:

As I observe the Jade button in Jani's hand, it looks too familiar.

'Why does that look familiar?', I think as I remember Lord Changun.

'Didn't Lord Changun have one of these on his hat?!', I think as I remember seeing one that looks way too similar, on the side of his hat.

"No way...", I mumble in shock.

"What? Do you know something, Haeun?", Hwi asks me.

"That... That Jade button... Doesn't that belong to Lord Changun?", I ask as I point at Jan-i's hand.

"What?", Hwi replies as he looks at where I pointed.

"Does that... go to his hat?", Hwi asks as Ga-On nods his head.

"It looks the same... But how can we know for sure?", Ga-On asks.

"I will go see him right now!", Hwi says furiously.

"Wait, wait for me!", I yell as Hwi starts to rush off while me and Ga-On follow behind him.

"We will be back, So-Eun! Don't worry!", I yell out as So-Eun becomes farther and farther away from me.

- TIME SKIP: [AT LORD CHANGUN'S HOUSE]

As Hwi rushes in, Changun looks like he saw a ghost.

"Your Highness, what brings you here?", Lord Changun says shakily as I appear behind Hwi, receiving a glare from Lord Changun.

I then look at his hat. One one side, near his temple, all I see are white strings coming out of it while the other side, has a Jade button.

'So the Jade button is his!', I think as I notice three scratch marks on his cheek that look fresh and are still bleeding.

With no hesitation, Hwi suddenly starts to strangle Lord Changun, making me widen my eyes.

"How dare you, you bastard?", Hwi says as I start to walk towards them but am stopped by Ga-On.

"Let him be. He won't kill him.", Ga-On says to me.

"Are you sure? I've never seen Hwi so mad.", I reply as Ga-On nods his head yes, reassuring me.

"What is the meaning of this?", Lord Changun asks, out of breath.

"Why am I furious?! Because a girl is dead! I'm furious because an innocent girl is dead!!!! She did nothing wrong. So why did you kill her?!?!", Hwi says as he chokes Lord Changun harder.

"I'll tell you. Let me... Let me go.", Lord Changun says out of breath as Hwi throws him to the ground.

"Just because you're the Crown Prince, you don't have the right to go around disrespecting your elders!", Lord Changun yells at Hwi while holding his throat with his hand.

Then, Hwi opens his right hand, revealing the Jade button, covered in blood.

When Lord Changun sees it, he touches the right side of his hat in disbelief.

"This time around, I will not allow your disgusting behavior to go unpunished.", Hwi says angrily as Lord Changun scoffs.

"Great...", Lord Changun says as Hwi looks at Ga-On.

"Take him in for interrogation!", Hwi commands Ga-On as Ga-On quickly grabs Lord Changun and starts to walk them back to the Palace as me and Hwi follow behind.

- TIME SKIP: [AT THE PALACE]

"I already told you everything. It's true that I passed the house at that hour, but I did not kill anyone... Who would be crazy enough to kill a slave in broad daylight? And seriously... Why would I waste my time and energy on a worthless lowlife?", Lord Changun says with a laugh to the interrogator as I clench my fists at his words.
