- 3RD POV:

Haeun, Hwi, and Hyun, glare at Lord Changun as he stands in front of Jan-i's grave.

Lord Changun forces himself to kneel in front of it, seething breaths as So-Eun sheds a tear at the sight.

Tears stream out of Lord Changun's eyes as he is angry and embarrassed that he has to listen to Hwi's and Haeun's command.

Meanwhile, word of this reached the Queen Dowager, who was furious, and the King.

After Lord Changun is brought back, Hwi and Haeun were summoned by the King.

Hwi and Haeun kneel in front of the king.

"You had him kneel! You had a royal relative kneel down I'm front of a slave's grave... What would possess you to do something so rash?!", The Queen Dowager yells.

"Uncle abused his power as a Royal relative and took an innocent life in the process. I believe he should at least seek out forgiveness and atone for what he did.", Hwi says.

"You know full well that he has been this way for years now. You shouldn't have gone so far. As the Crown Prince, it is your duty to uphold the code of morals. You are setting a bad example for your sister, who looks up to you. What brought on this lack of judgement?", The Queen Dowager replies.

"It was not a misjudgement... The only thing I did was act dutifully. I heeded Father's guidance to always serve the people of our nation and also Grandmother's guidance regarding my duty to defend our Royal blood. This is why I do not feel even the slightest bit of shame.", Hwi says sternly.

"Crown Prince!", The Queen Dowager yells, shocked.

"This matter will be mine to sort out. You are hereby dismissed.", The King says as the Queen Dowager glares at him.

Haeun and Hwi start to get up as the King speaks again.

"Haeun, stay.", The King says as Haeun starts to kneel back down as Hwi glances at her worryingly before leaving.

"Why are you getting involved with your brother's affairs? Do not help him with them either. He is not setting a good example for you and it is dangerous.", The Queen Dowager adds.

"Dangerous? What is dangerous is that you are taking Uncle's side! Uncle is the dangerous one! He killed someone! Is that not enough?! Does he have to kill Hwi or me for you to see that?!", Haeun asks.

"Do not say such things, Haeun! You wouldn't have to worry about being on Changun's bad side if you didn't get involved with any of it! If we catch you one more time, getting involved with anything Hwi is, you will be grounded again!", The Queen Dowager yells.

"I'm already grounded! I can't go out of the Palace without my Bodyguard.", Haeun replies, frustratingly.

"No, I mean your Quarters! Yoy will not leave them at all if you keep this up! You may leave!", The Queen Dowager replies, pointing at where Hwi just left as Haeun quickly gets up and turns around, nit daring to make eye contact with her Father or her Grandmother.

- Haeun's POV:

As I walk out, I overhear Lord Sangheon and Hwi talking.

I quickly stop walking to not make my presence known.

"You think that girl's life was petty?", Hwi asks Lprd Sangheon.

"What I mean is that you were wrong, and you should not have gotten involved in the murder of a lowly girl!", Lord Sangheon says as his voice grows.

"There is no such thing as a petty life. And not a single person deserves to die for no reason. And no one... has the right to disregard another's life. And I mean no one.", Hwi says as I hear footsteps, signaling that Hwi or Lord Sangheon has left.
