Chapter 4: Darkness Rising Pt. 4

As the undead rose around them, Cliffjumper, Optimus, and Ratchet readied themselves for battle. As soon as they got up, The army started making their way to the Autobots, their growls and yowls bouncing off the canyon walls as Megatron watched from above.

"Megatron has desecrated the resting place of our fallen ancestors and his own!" Ratchet snapped, glaring at the horde. Cliffjumper aimed his cannons at the horde, charging them up with a scowl.

"Is that such a surprise? He did it to one of his soldiers too! I wouldn't put it past him." Cliffjumper growled as Optimus glanced back at them.

"Not even the dead are free from his warmongering," Optimus said, readying himself for battle with the others. He activated his battle mask, a stern expression on his face. Meanwhile, Megatron's insignia pulsed from the dark energon as well as the power of his army.

"At last. Symbiosis. I can feel it. I possess complete control over my army. DESTROY THEM!" Megatron ordered. As the undead limped towards the Autobots, Optimus and Cliffjumper began shooting down any that got too close. However, there were so many of them. Also, most would get back up as soon as they were shot down.

"Optimus, if our combatants are already deceased, How can we possibly defeat them?!" Ratchet asked as the undead began to advance on the group. Cliffjumper and Optimus were forced to step back multiple times to not get hit by the zombies. Optimus knew they couldn't hold them off forever. Realizing this, he made up his mind.

"Ratchet! Cliffjumper! Retreat! Bridge yourselves back to base!" Optimus ordered. Ratchet and Cliffjumper glanced at each other before shaking their helms.

"Sorry, Optimus but No way! We're not leaving you here alone!" Cliffjumper snapped as he continued to shoot down the rest of the undead. Ratchet activated his blades as he nodded.

"I am with Cliffjumper. We will stand by you, Optimus!" Ratchet said, stepping up with the others. Cliffjumper and Optimus looked at him as he spoke.

"Besides, you both may need a medic when this is over with it," Ratchet explained. With that, the trio charged into battle with the undead. Ratchet ran ahead, slicing the undead with his blades. As he finished off another, he noticed something. After a moment, he spoke about his findings.

"I recommend Dissection. The smaller the pieces, the better!" Ratchet explained as he continued to battle. Cliffjumper and Optimus turned to him, surprised before a smile came across their faces.

"Sound Advice, old friend. Cliffjumper, your aim is impeccable. Use this strength to your advantage and continue blasting the undead into smaller pieces!" Optimus ordered. Cliffjumper nodded, taking extra care to aim this time. With this, he could do multiple blasts that would tear apart the undead creatures.

Meanwhile, Optimus activated his swords and charged into battle with Ratchet close behind. Optimus was very skilled with a blade so it was no surprise how he sliced multiple undead at once. They finished off the dead around them, staying side by side. Optimus looked up to see Megatron staring back.

"I have mastered dark energon. When you fall Optimus, you too shall join my army." Megatron said. Cliffjumper scoffed as Optimus narrowed his optics. He then led Ratchet and Cliffjumper forward, charging at the undead, slicing and blasting down many as they found.

Heidi sprinted through the dark vents of the Decepticon warship, heaving immensely. Heidi used one hand to hold the bloody wound on her cheek as she felt adrenaline pump through her. It was mainly dark and dust was everywhere.
