Chapter 6: Science Fair Troubles

"Raf, are you sure about this?" Heidi asked, skeptical. In the Autobot Base, Heidi and the other kids worked on science fair projects with their Guardians. Each of them was unique and interesting to look at. Miko was doing a model of the solar system with Bulkhead. Jack was building a motorcycle on the ground below with Arcee's help. And Raf was making a volcano with a few extra kicks to it.

Heidi stood on the platform, watching skeptically as Cliffjumper stood nearby, a bit nervous about the project. On the ground, Raf was readying his volcano for the extra chemicals and stuff he would put in. Bumblebee watched, curious as Raf took the vinegar and some other stuff in hand.

"Uh-huh. Why?" Raf asked, finally looking up at Heidi.

"Well... Listen, you have a good idea but with all the other stuff going into it, you might be going a little overboard," Heidi explained, trying to put it nicely. Cliffjumper nodded as Raf turned back to his project.

"Everyone's seen a volcano before, Heidi. It's the most common science project out there. But if I use these extra chemicals, it'll get me a good grade! Maybe even the best!" Raf explained, excited. Bumblebee let out a string of buzzes, nodding to Raf's statement. Heidi sighed, sitting down on the floor with parts scattered around. For her project, she would build a wind turbine and use it to make energy. She was halfway done with the turbine itself thankfully. However, it didn't look like much at the moment.

"Alright, Just be careful," Heidi said, beginning to work on it. Cliffjumper watched from above, the upside of his servo spread out next to her. It had directions along with a few important parts on top of it so Heidi wouldn't lose them. He was very interested in the project just like the past projects Heidi did for school. However, this time, Heidi wanted no help on this project other than what he was doing now. He didn't mind and was proud of how responsible she was for this.

BOOM! Heidi and Cliffjumper both jumped in fear, surprised by the sudden sound. Smoke filled the air around them, causing Heidi to start coughing. Cliffjumper looked around nervously as he tried not to drop any pieces from his servo. What was that?!

"Decepticons! We're under attack!" Ratchet yelled, coming around the corner with Optimus beside him. Something told Heidi that it wasn't the Decepticons though. She stood up, waving away the smoke as she turned to the perpetrator–Raf Volcano. An annoyed look came on her face as He waved away the smoke.

"It's no attack, Ratchet. *cough, cough* It's my volcano." Raf explained, continuing to cough as he waved away the smoke. The volcano then made a deflated balloon sound as it melted, slumping down. Raf looked at it, growing sad as he quickly corrected himself.

"I told you it was too much, Raf. It's a good thing you didn't get hurt. Or that anybody else did for that matter." Heidi said, narrowing her eyes. Raf scratched the back of his head, sighing in defeat as Ratchet turned to her. He seemed a bit horrified by all the pieces scattered around her feet. His attention was then brought to Miko who was painting the planets of her solar system. Bulkhead held up the model with his digits but seemed a bit shaky.

"Hold still, Bulkhead! Jupiter needs its red spot." Miko said, dipping her paintbrush into one of the multiple paint cans. It dripped onto the floor as she pulled it out, making her cringe at the mistake.

"Whoopsie!" Miko said. Ratchet seemed to lose his cool then, quickly interrupting any other projects.

"What. In the All spark. Is going on in here?!" Ratchet snapped. Jack looked up, quickly explaining to Ratchet.

"Our projects are due tomorrow," As Jack looked around for another part, Arcee, who was sitting nearby, picked up an exhaust pipe. She showed it to Jack, hoping to help. Though she had no idea what she was holding.
