Aki and Touko walked through the front door of their apartment, their arms laden with shopping bags. Touko's free hand held the bouquet of sunflowers Aki had gifted her, their vibrant petals catching the light as they stepped inside.
The scent of takeout food and the sound of Denji and Power bickering drifted through the apartment, a sign that their chaotic roommates were already causing trouble.
Aki couldn't help but roll his eyes as they stepped into the apartment and the bickering between Denji and Power reached their ears. "Here we go again," he muttered under his breath.
He set down the shopping bags on the counter, preparing himself for the chaos that was awaiting them in the living room.
Touko followed closely behind Aki, setting down her shopping bags next to his. Her lips curved into a small grin as the bickering between Denji and Power grew louder, the sound of crashing and yelling reaching their ears.
Touko's expression mirrored Aki's as they entered the apartment and heard the chaos unfolding. She set down the bags and approached the living room cautiously, concern creeping into her expression. "Should we stop them?" she whispered, glancing over at Aki, the volume of the bickering making her wince.
Aki's expression hardened as he heard the growing noise from the living room. He shared her concern and stepped forward as if ready to intervene. "We'd better," he muttered, a steely determination in his eyes.
They made their way to the living room, preparing themselves for the chaos and destruction that usually ensued when Denji and Power were left to their own devices.
As they entered the living room, they were met with a scene of utter chaos. Denji and Power were in the middle of a heated argument, a mess of broken furniture and scattered newspapers surrounding them.
"What the- we left you two alone for only two hours!" Aki exclaimed, his exasperation growing as he surveyed the destruction.
Touko stood next to him, her eyes scanning the wreckage with a mix of concern and disbelief.
Denji and Power paused their bickering, turning to face Aki and Touko with matching exasperated grins.
"We got bored," Power said, innocently feigning ignorance.
"And we were hungry," Denji added, shrugging as if that explained the chaos spread around them.
The living room resembled a war zone. The couch cushions were thrown around, the couch was overturned, and newspapers were strewn about like fallen leaves.
It would take hours to clean up the mess Denji and Power had made, again.
"Hungry?" Aki's tone was laced with disbelief. "You two did all this because you were hungry?"
Denji and Power exchanged a glance, their guilt dissipating as they realized they were going to get away with it.
"Well, you guys were taking too long." Power replied, crossing her arms.
Aki's disbelief grew, his jaw tensing as he tried to comprehend their logic. "So, because we were taking too long to return, you decided to have a brawl in the living room?"
Denji and Power shared a sheepish look, aware that they had overdone it.
"It got out of hand," Denji admitted, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.
"We didn't mean to make such a mess," Power chimed in, her voice laced with faux innocence.
"You two are giving me a headache," Aki sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
