A true mermaid story

You know Rita I have been wondering why did you leave the pod all those years ago when we were eighteen years old you seem to not have the same spark for the human world as you did when we were young has things in the human world gotten that bad that you finally decided to come back to the pod?

Well verdia as you probably already guessed the human world is not as horrible as our teachers told us it definitely has taken some time to get used to all the smells and things and constantly worrying about getting wet.
by water to answer your question it is that bad because the school I teach and principal of just gotten two mermen who seem to be keen on trying to get rid of us mermaids.
as a whole I was hoping that I would be allowed back to the pod because frankly I miss teaching young mermaids .
and I am done hiding my love for the ocean and traveling in the human world constantly getting used to new forms of communication I miss the ways of old and our kind.
Wait did you say mermen's are back and trying to start the war again with a new generation of mermaids just coming of age to  earn their moon rings .
I will have to talk to the mermaid council you know they will probably ask you to go undercover back in the human world with three  different young mermaids who are on top of their class and craft  and will most likely be the defenders of the moon pool and our people.
are you ready for this possibility of you raising three little mermaids on top of your position in the human society and the risks of it all?
Yes I am ready to do whatever it takes to make the world safe from mermen trying to control our waters even if it means that I have to become a parent figure in some manner.
I know I betrayed our people and traditions when we were young I fully regret my decision to leave the pod to defend itself from humans long enough I stood by and did nothing I hope the council will grant me the chance to make amends for everything I have done.
