A few weeks later, Yuvraj's friends were gathered at their home for a casual get-together. As they chatted and laughed over drinks, Tarini joined them after finishing some work in the kitchen. Yuvraj's friend, Aditya, grinned at her.
"Tarini, you're looking absolutely stunning today," he complimented with a playful wink.
Tarini smiled politely, glancing at Yuvraj who was chatting with another friend across the room. She could sense the admiration in Aditya's eyes and the lingering glances from other friends. Yuvraj's friends had always been fond of her, often complimenting her beauty and charm whenever they gathered.
Aditya leaned closer, lowering his voice. "Hey, Yuvraj is a lucky man. Do you think he'd mind if we were all friends with you too?"
Tarini's smile faltered slightly, caught off guard by the implication. "Oh, I think Yuvraj would prefer to keep me to himself," she replied diplomatically, hoping to brush off the comment.
Aditya chuckled, nudging his friend Vikram. "Looks like we'll have to settle for being friends from a distance then."
The conversation shifted to lighter topics, but Tarini couldn't shake off the discomfort of the suggestion. She glanced over at Yuvraj, who seemed unaware of the exchange, deep in conversation with his friends.
Later that week, Yuvraj suggested they all go for a pool party at a nearby resort to unwind. Tarini hesitated for a moment, recalling the previous social gathering, but she agreed, hoping it would be a chance to relax and bond with Yuvraj and his friends in a different setting.
At the resort, the group settled by the poolside, enjoying the warm afternoon sun and cool breeze. Yuvraj, in his element, was chatting animatedly with his friends as they lounged on the deck chairs. Tarini sat close by, sipping on a cocktail and occasionally joining in the conversation.
Aditya splashed playfully in the pool, calling out to Yuvraj. "Hey man, join us! This water is amazing."
Yuvraj glanced over at Tarini with a mischievous grin. "What do you say, Tarini? Care to take a dip with us?"
Tarini smiled, shaking her head. "I think I'm fine right here, enjoying the sun."
Undeterred, Yuvraj's friend Rohan chimed in, "Come on, Tarini! Don't be shy. You'll love it."
Tarini felt the familiar unease creeping up again. She glanced at Yuvraj, silently pleading for understanding. "Actually, I think I'll just relax here," she insisted gently.
Yuvraj sensed her discomfort, his expression softening. "Alright, guys, let's not push her," he intervened, shooting a reassuring smile at Tarini. "You stay here and enjoy your drink, darling. We'll join you in a bit."
As Yuvraj and his friends splashed and played in the pool, Tarini watched them with a mixture of amusement and relief. She appreciated Yuvraj respecting her boundaries and intervening when needed.
Later that evening, as they lounged together under the setting sun, Yuvraj leaned over to Tarini and whispered softly, "Are you okay, Tarini? I'm sorry if they made you uncomfortable."
Tarini smiled gratefully, leaning into his touch. "It's okay, Yuvraj. I know they mean well. Thank you for understanding."
Yuvraj kissed her forehead gently, his eyes reflecting his love and respect for her. "Always, Tarini. I'm here for you."
